WHAT IS WRONG?

So, here's the situation:

My mom wants me to put some music on her MP3 player, so I gladly accept. I take the mp3 player to my house, and plug it in. It says to press play to charge battery, and of course, I have put music on this MP3 player for her before, so I know that you can charge putting music on. So I hold play, and it says PLEASE DO NOT UNPLUG. So I go to put music on, and it doesnt show jup. It says that drivers were successfully installed, but it wont show up. So, I leave it, deciding that I shouldnjt unplug it, maybe it's still transferring something. About 2 hours later, it still says DO NOT UNPLUG, but this time, I decided it had frozen, so I unplug it. Now I plug it back in, and only 3 blankfiles show up, not folders, just 3 blank files. The files have no names, and say they are 0 kb's in size. Yet, when I view the drive, it says that 400 mb are used up. My computer has since been formatted, but still, only three blank files show up. The MP3 player still works fine, and all the old music is still on there, so why can't I See what is on it?

For anyone wanting to search this, it is an RCA LYRA M25 series, but good luck, it's not even showjn on the RCA page. Also, btw, the mp3 player has worked on this computer before, so it's not just this computer.

Sorry if there are any random J's in the writing previous, my J kjey is busted.
With my MP3 player, I have to press play to turn it on before I plug it into the USB port, otherwise the PC won't recognize it as another drive.

What filesystem does your MP3 player use? Typically, it is a variant of FAT system (mine is FAT32). Perhaps you can use windows to format the drive?

An even better bet would be to post your problem on a forum that has more MP3 player hardware expertise. (no offense or anything, just that you'd probably have better luck and better answers). Like http://www.techsupportforum.com/ or something
Yes, my brother also recommended formatting it, but my mom doesnt want to lose all of her music, and so I just charged it and returned it to her, and she is happy with what is on there. Also, I would post in forums where there is more support for things like that, but I haven't signed up for any of them, and I don't care to signup somewhere where I will never return. RMN forums are the only forums for me :)
