Tried doing it once, it didnt have the right selection of colors. Next time i did it...it said something of it not being a supported png type...although its png.
Anyone wanna lend me a hand at this, i'm too tired to fight doing it by myself anymore. Is it something i'd have to do via photoshop?

It would be a good idea to start with what you're trying to import into, you know?
Anyway, in all likelihood you've been trying to use a 24-bit-color PNG in an RPG Maker that only accepts an 8-bit-color PNG. I would guess that most programs that output 24-bit-color PNGs have an option to switch to an indexed-palette mode, so look for that.

Okay. Yeah sorry it was a character tileset.
I forget to mention details so my bad. I'll have to do that....

From my experience, if RM does take non PNG formats it would end up being more trouble than it's worth than just sticking with pings. But while photoshop is totally handy (though I actually have a lot of exemption errors when using it for pings...annoying that) you don't need expensive software to turn say a GIF or JPG you find online into one. Heck, you don't eve need free software!

I haven't needed to try here myself, but I used to use something similar to change video formats. But it's basically a link where you upload one graphic format and it spits it out as another for you. Falcon's right about the bit mode too, I think VX can handle anything but the older titles are a bit more restricted. But as long as you're not using photographs it won't degrade the quality, except maybe the very outside border around the character.
