WHO NEEDS HELP?

I figure since I joined the site, haven't installed an engine or started any code yet (I'll get to that someday), I might as well make my self available to the community. I am willing to do a whole battery of things. If you need somebody to assist you on a project, I'll do it. If you need one or two small things for a project, yeah I'll do that too.

What can I do?

Since I don't have an engine, I really can't do code for anyone (Unless for some inane reason you are coding in MATLAB, which I have access to for job reasons; but who codes games in MATLAB?)

I can do artwork for characters, Items, maps.

I also have software to produce music. So If you want a minstrel, I can do that too.

I'll do this in a simple manner, not to sound bloated, but so I can manage the work, where I'll go by first come first served. I only want to do one thing at a time so that I don't get disorganized. Cool? Get at me.
I would love a game in MATLAB!

"Bob uses GRAPH ATTACK!"

I should reinstall my copy...

(Sorry, I just wanted to comment on MATLAB. I have no work for you).
Hah, I could probably code a crappy MATLAB Game in a couple weeks, but you would need the software to play it.

Who knows, I may just do that later in the summer...

May I suggest you post some samples in those topics:

That way developers can get an idea what you can offer them.

And yeah, its been a while since I had used MATLAB. Is it still almost like writing programming? Yeah, I also used Mathematica and MATHCAD.

EDIT: A MATLAB game would definitely be interesting!

Artwork samples plz.

Mapping samples plz.
I'll get the art stuff soon. I don't think I've done maps before, so I'll take it as a Challenge (which means I need to find the specs). I will do that one week thing for some midis though.
Hey do you think you could edit some chatacter set poses for me? Basically like attacking stances and and victory poses n all that good stuff. Let me know man :D
I'm up for that. I will shoot you a private message with my email. So, tell me what you want done, send me the images, and I'll have at that presently. Sound good?
How about you hook yourself up WITH a game engine? There are a few freewares out there, though I think the best one is RM2K3. (Yes, I know it's not freeware, but it's been pirated so many times that Enterbrain simply gave up trying to police it, instead they made 2 whole NEW engines, that... I still consider iffy at best. Though I will give a shout out to XP, because it's finally getting there in terms of graphics.)

Here's a link to RM2K3

You'll need the RTP (run time program) (it has the basic resources for the game, you actually can't run RM2K3 without it)

Download clicky is located at the bottom of the page.

OR if you have $30 you can pick up a copy of XP, OR if you want to have the latest, RM system out there, there is VX for $60. (though, I DO NOT recommend this system, Craze will obviously point out that even though VX has exceptional blocky like graphics, it does have more colors than the 256 color pallet, a better scripting system, and an unlimited tileset. (about freaking time) I will not recommend this system for the one main reason. Which is, I don't like the way VX looks, I just don't, it looks too blocky. Even some of the custom graphics look blocky for it. It's a personal preference though, and in the end, the choice really is up to you.

I will recommend you try a trial of the XP and VX, and try the free RM2K3 system and base your decision on that. If you decide on going that root of picking up a RM gaming engine.

Of course there are others out there too, Game Maker Lite, Sphere, Verge, Toolkit (if its still around), and Ika to name a few... though I have tried them... I'm not really the person to ask about these. I've only dabbled in them a bit actually, but I'm sure others who know those systems well are on RMN and can give you the 401 on those if you'd really like.
Hey... I am just NOT good at Character Maker and I need good character animations. I saw this topic and was wondering if you could help me out.
Just making sure I'm not dead. I'm still helping P3K10.

Music: I can digitally create in Anvil, but I would do recording and more editing in MATLAB since I have a good hold on its sound processing capabilities, to the point that I should be able to make genuine Near Eastern and Far Eastern sounding music by using novel divisions of octaves (I think most traditional Arabic and Greek music divides octaves into sixteen and traditional Chinese divides the octave into either five or seven.)

I am still breathing.
