SO, I MISSED OUT ON THE GAMECUBE ERA...
Posts
It's true. I never owned a Gamecube...which sucks because I'm constantly told there was a plethora of good games on it.
Luckily for me, the Wii can play Gamecube games! =D
So, I'm making this topic to ask what games are worth my time. I may have missed out on the Gamecube, but I would like to at least play a handful of good games for the system. I've already started this venture, actually, the Gamecube games I have played are...
-- Resident Evil (the remake)
-- Resident Evil Zero (though, I wouldn't mind playing it once more 'cause I barely remember it)
-- Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (which is awesome)
-- Tales of Symphonia (though, I only played a small bit of this one. No more than a couple hours)
...Oh, and Super Smash Bros. Melee but who hasn't played that?
I've been thinking of giving Starfox Adventures a try. It looks promising, and who doesn't think Starfox is awesome?
What games would you guys suggest?

Well I had a gamecube but, I don't own a Wii.
Some of these games might have been re released for the Wii.
--zelda windwaker is a really good game.
--Metroid prime is also a good game.
--Mario Sunshine was pretty fun.
--Pikmin was fun too.
--Crystal Chronicles is sort of a good game but, not for everyone.

Starfox began and ended with 64. Don't bother with any of the others. Mario sunshine is a nice one, paper mario is great (especially chapter 3... I want to make an RM game inspired by that, who's with me?) and you can't go wrong with Wind Waker.
OH!!!!!
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. Now.

I've had a taste of Pikmin. I may try that one out again. I've played halfway through Windwaker, just until you got the Master Sword (forgot to mention that). I'm not sure if I want to pick it up again, though...
Mario Sunshine is one I wouldn't mind trying. Not sure about Crystal Chronicles, though, I haven't seen a lot of praise for that particular spin-off series.

paper mario is great
If by that you mean Super Paper Mario for the Wii, then I'd have to say no, more than likely. Admitted it may be a good game in it's own right, but the fact that they took away the RPG battles was really a turn off for me.
i actually really really like crystal chronicles. it had a lot of replay value, for me at least.
also starfox adventures is crap. i hated that game. starfox is awesome, but it in no way does him justice. the arwing bits are good, though infrequent.
definitely play windwaker, and absolutely play pikmin. pikmin is my favourite gamecube game.
also, since you mentioned the gamecube generation, consider some dreamcast ports! sonic adventure directors cut, evolution worlds, and skies of arcadia are all excellent. and sonic adventure 2 battle is one of the best games on the gamecube.
i really really liked tales of symphonia, but it can be a bit too animu for some. the voice acting is hilariously bad though, and that adds a lot to the play value i think. i do not recall if there is an option to switch it to japanese, though.

I've heard mixed feelings. I've heard it's good...but also it's bad.
Before I spend $10 bucks on a decrepit, used copy, I'd liked to learn what I can too find out if I'll even enjoy it. What about the game makes people say it's bad?
F-Zero GX is the best racing game from last generation. My friend and I seriously got a little motion sickness the first night playing it. I never get motion sickness from games. That's how fast this baby is.
Metroid Prime 1 and 2. 1 is better, but 2 is still good stuff.
Beyond Good and Evil.
And about SFA. It has some really nice graphics, but the game gets fairly stale. Also Fox climbs sooooo slooooow.

You've missed most of the video game eras, kentona.
Get the metroid prime trilogy for your wii. Stuff like okami and re4 are obviously best on the wii.
-Viewtiful Joe series imo is best on the GC (Same with killer 7)
-F-zero GX if you want your ass KICKED TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH (seriously my fav racing game)
-ETERNAL DARKNESS especially if you're looking for horror gams
-Ikaruga if you want your ass KICKED TO THE CENTER OF THE MOON (seriously, the guys who made it are gods of game making) but yeah its a dreamcast port and like tardis said, get them
-Beyond Good & Evil if you haven't played it on ps2 or xbox, honestly it feels like a gc game...
Some lesser known tites:
Chibi Robo
Cubivore
Gladius (I think its cross platform, but worth a shot if you havent played it yet)
Lost Kingdom games (yugioh without the boring)
Gotcha Force: underrated gem
Haha no, maybe if you like to see the voice acting ruined, first person view slapped on to make the game broken + easy as hell, cutscenes redone to look pretentious and stupid. Honestly only get this if you have no plans of getting a ps2/3 and don't plan to explore the entire mgs series. Really it just feels right to play the MGS series on the playstations in their original forms.

Well, that's ashame. It looks like it's got something going for it; too bad the developers fudged up in the end, I guess.
F-Zero is the shit. I may check that one out.
Also I'd like to pick up the Metroid Prime Triology if anything. I've only played a bit of 1 and 3. I've never been a fan of first-person perspective, but with Metroid I'd be more than glad to make an exception.
Oh yeah you have a Wii. Grab MPT instead of hunting down individual copies.
Fire Emblem 9/Path of Radiance was pretty good too, if you can find it. And I actually quite liked what I played of Pokemon Colosseum, wouldn't recommend it to everyone but you seem to be a Pokemon fan so might want to try it out.
ohhh man, Gotcha Force. Still not sure what I made of that. Might give it another go...

post=146698I caught the tail end of the Atari era, and full on in the NES and SNES era, and then I got an N64.

F-Zero GX is the best racing game from last generation.
I also endorse Crystal Chronicles. An amazing hidden gem was Lost Kingdoms II - Action-RPG card game.
Starfox Adventures wasn't even meant to be a Starfox game. If you can get past the fact that it's not "Starfox," it's a decent game.
Crystal Chronicles was fun, but it's even better with friends in my opinion. Unfortunately the game forces you to use your Gameboy Advances so good luck with that. (only for multiplayer though thank God)
Zelda Four Swords Adventure was okay, but it might bear a higher than average price because it's "Zelda."
Skies of Arcadia is a pretty good JRPG. I heard it was better on Dreamcast but it's a pretty decent port.
Super Mario Sunshine is good. People say it's the lowest of the 3 3D Mario games but it's still good.
I also liked Luigi's Mansion, although it is pretty short and people usually say it was shit. Poor Luigi.

oh man, you think it's bad with a controller. try playing that shit on the full arcade-style f-zero racer machine thing in Nintendo of America's offices. absolutely ridiculous. that's one of the most utterly terrifying things i have ever done.
I'll second Path of Radiance, even better because it can be linked up to Radiant Dawn. Still my two favorite console RPGs... Anyway, Sonic Adventure 2 is okay as well. Gameplay is pretty excellent except for those stupid treasure hunter levels, but the plot/voice acting is so laughably bad that it's appreciable.
