...but I still try anyway!

As some of you may know, when I'm not busy making bizarre design choices for RPGs, I'm busy writing comics in my own, AHEM, "quaint" style. I have a deviantArt gallery that's stuffed to the brim with them; almost every comic I've ever written is in there (only those lost with time are excluded).

Anyway, I thought I'd share some of my stuff with you folks here. Right now, I have three different projects going.

The first and foremost is a comic I'm writing for an online tournament. It's an OCT (original character tournament) set in the Pokémon universe. So far, I've made it to round 3 and am doing quite well!

Second, I have been writing comics about Spelunky. The game doesn't have a story of its own, so I'm free to interpret its various plot elements as I wish. It's coming along pretty well, I think.

And third, I have a massive ongoing effort to retell the story of Aidyn Chronicles (obscure N64 RPG) in comic-form. It's already over 130 pages, and nowhere near finished.

I also have some older finished projects in my gallery, but they're not as good since I've been improving my methods recently. Plus, they're no longer in progress because, y'know, they're done.

So, take a look, tell me what ya think, and if anyone's interested, I'll keep you updated when I have new episodes of stuff to post. Enjoy!

Oh, and I guess I could put up a sample page or something.

I dig your character designs and placement of speech bubbles, but the layout of your cells is really boring and the writing is pretty sloppy. I don't really get what's supposed to be going on here, but that's probably because I've never played Pokemon; if there's a punchline in there, it's way over my head.

Now I'm gonna have to go dig through all my old sketchbooks and try to find all the dumb little comics I drew...

Yeah, the layout of my comics has always generally been really flat. I've only recently started trying panels that are different sizes, and even those aren't all that different. Anyway, my handwriting is kinda sloppy, but at least it's legible. This is really the first I've heard a complaint about it. These are also easier to read on deviantArt where you can bring the images up to their maximum size. Finally, since my comics are more story-based than anything else, they don't have or rely on punchlines. Each one is a continuation of the last, but I try to make it so they start and end on good transition points.

I thought I was the only person in the universe who had played The First Mage (and for good reason.)

Whoa! You know about Aidyn Chronicles? I think you're the first person from here that actually knows what it is. I found a handful on dA, too, but there were only about 10 of them. And only half are reading the comic.

Forgive me for being an AC nerd here, but what did you think of it (the game)? I'm curious to know...

They had a lot of great ideas but for every cool thing they did they did a dozen terrible things. =/

I'm afraid I have to agree. They did have a lot of neat ideas, especially in regards to the battle system. But I think there were a lot of issues with implementation, both in gameplay and story. That's most of the reason why I'm retelling it in comic form. The story (in my opinion) is better than they were able to present it.

EDIT: Here you go; hot off the press. Though you may want to just click this link since the forums aren't conducive to its full view.
