Well, it's nearly here! Ty Templeton created a series for his pupils, myself included, to play with and create a professional comic! The group of us went forth and made this thing, and boy did it turn out great.

We divided into teams to create each 8-page story, each involving different characters in the Holmes Inc. group. Jeff Rusland penciled the comic story I inked, entitled "Bobby Bomber" focusing on the older characters in the group. It was a pure challenge, because we were stuck to realistic deadlines. Seriously caused me loads of stress. The end result was well worth it...
Not only did I get to witness the hardship of inking under a deadline; I got to feel the anxiety of seeing my inking work go to waste behind word balloons. What's more is that we're launching this thing at FanExpo in Toronto in a week, so I'll get first-hand experience at signing comics at a table in a huge convention. (I'm pretty freakin' nervous about that!)

Anyway, here is an example page... and picture of the oldest member of the crew.

Sorry, totally forgot to get back on this. I'll have photos, stories, and a full report soon! In short: It was an amazing experience. Really looking forward to next year!!!

I'll just link this blog, it has a lot of details and pictures that I don't have. I will add this picture of the whiteboard... Someone drew a picture of Artie to draw attention to our booth... But they left him unfinished, with a white shirt and no shading. So in inker fashion, I fixed it... and sold a copy as a result. Literally finished it and some guy is like, "I'll buy one!"

We made about $200. During my two hours on the last day, we only sold about 10 copies though. Oh well, everyone else did the work for us.

I missed Adam West :(
However we did get a good story about William Shatner.
One of the writers was leaving the ladies washroom, just as Shatner was leaving the men's. She gave him a :O expression; To which, Shatner gave a smug "yeah, it's me" kinda face.
Classic Shatner. Stuff looks great man!

What's wrong with inking? It's still one of the most important jobs in illustration. Heck, if you venture into the world of graphic novels, you'll found how the way you ink can determine the type of story you are telling with your image.

Anyway, this looks absolutely awesome. Too bad you only sold about 10 copies.
