RECOMMEND ME SOME GOOD COMPLETED INDIE RPGS PLEASE
Posts
You all have no shame when it comes to plugging your own projects. By you all, I mean Max McGee, Yeaster and LockeZ. I guess Yeaster should be forgiven because his game might actually be good.
If you're looking for long non-episodic games, seems you might enjoy Three the Hard Way, Hero's Realm, Demon Legacy or Legacies of Dondoran.
Thanks for recommending/name-dropping this piece of juvenilia then. As he said, it's "juvenilia" so don't download this game. Don't even bother squinting.

I think your 'dislikes' wipe out close to my entire catalogue, but Iron Gaia is close to ten hours long, if you squint. It also doesn't resemble any of the RPGs you do like, and more importantly it's getting closer and closer to what I consider juvenilia and not at all representative of my present quality of work.

The sad thing is -- I really don't! But I'mmostly just goofing off.
In all seriousness -- I've been playing Zombie Survival (http://rpgmaker.net/games/1367/) all this morning and it's a lot of fun. Just turn your brain off and enjoy the ride.

so what's the difference between plugging oneself and making a gamepage/fourm topic out of one's game? which you, me and pretty much everyone else does when it comes to indie games. I find this at least conterdicting on your part, it's just another form of advertising :)

No. The way he put it, he was mocking Sluv for jumping down Max's throat. Idk I am just not that surprised to see people like F-G tired of Max being some drama magnet. Hell I would agree with him if it were not a "joke."
It's hard to resist plugging yourself in a topic like this, unless they ask for a shoot-em-up and you're selling a mystery epic.
I suddenly got the urge to make the weirdest hybrid game...

Non world map type I really meant I am just sick of games where you basically have to travel screen by screen and then atfw back. The mana series for example - but at least they had big gay dragons and cannons.
I just hate playing unfinished stuff - and that is how I see episodic things. You can 1,2,3,4 the heck of of me so long as each stands on its own.
As for length - I just don't like short stuff. Seems about the time it takes for me to learn its systems, feel, and start to care for it - its almost over. Unless it has some very killer story or something that makes it worth it (like dhux's scar)
Just forget the requirements list I guess - I may have been to fine tooth - I just really f'in hate episodic stuff. I never even kept up with television shows and such - I'm just a movie/whole product-story kind of guy.
Oh yeah barkley shut up and jam gaiden is one of my favs. MY MOST fav game that had al-bhed in it-ever. Dondoran was good too. Venomous Depths was an unexpected yet enjoyable treat.
Going to give illarion, demon's legacy, vindication, visions and voices a whirl.
Just hard to filter out - kiddy/rehashed in the jrpg category and epic and full from the "one guy with too much time using rpgmaker" categories. So sorry if I come off as ...hmph to many of your labors - I just like what I like and it makes me appreciate what I find oh so much more. Maybe it is just me but I have a heck of a time finding the good stuff like dhux/ shut up and jam/etc...

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Nah, it makes sense. I mean, I understand that players want to play certain types of games, and we don't necessarily have the ability to search for the things you care about, nor do most of these games have enough reviews for you to make an educated decision. Sometimes you will get a hard time for it on these forums, because they're full of developers, so trying to find a game that matches your interests basically requires telling a developer you're not interested in the type of game they made. But that's just something you have to expect, it's nothing personal.
Edit: Also, yes, I'm completely fuckin' shameless. Woo.

Yeah, me and my games too :(
There was a great one I played a while back called Sunset Over Imdahl. You could probably Google it.
It's short but very well done. Also, hand drawn backgrounds reminiscent of Saga Frontier 2.

The stuff I tried/liked since I made this has been
-Zombie Survival (wow - my trying that paid off big - shockingly so)
- Drunken Paladin book 3 or whatever it goes by ^ same . suffering from an object galore finger lock up problem though. loved how every single object had its own writing. the game sure had some tlc put into it. theguy/gal/chimp/etc who wrote itcould easily have a great career as a dialogue guy.
-Hero's realm. A good old staple. Most games that go this style get deleted within an hour or two. This one just felt right.
I think the well done comedic stuff is very "palatable" (such as barkely, zombie, paladin, that sort of thing) - any titles I should be aware of similar in style?
Plan on trying the bronson thing next as it was made by zombie guy.
