Not only can you, it's a built-in feature. Check the help file; it'll tell you how to go about setting it up.
do this with a switch, then do that with a variable, then blah-blah-blah until it works...
...............srry, but this is the kind of response i get about dis stuff

Like chaos said, it's a built in feature of rpgmaker. Read the help file for info on it. Specifically, go to the INDEX and search for "Set Escape Target".
But it can't be an item, it has to be a skill. Like those WARP spells from old FF's or DQ.

...Or an item that uses those skills! (Default function in the database)
That's all fine and dandy, but how do I make it into a skill? I understand how to do the item that uses a skill, but making the escape skill itself doesn't make sense to me.

I'm trying to make an item that transports someone to the entrance of a dungeon. Is that possible?

Let me know if it did help you.
Don't forget to add the skill to the player. and if you want it to coast SP, just add it in the attributes.
GL ;)
That...isn't what I was looking for. You made a skill that allows me to escape from battle, not escape a dungeon.
The "Escape" part of the drop-down menu makes it an out-of-battle escape skill, just like "Teleport" is, welp, guess.

well, that's easy. Make an item linked with a common event that...
with conditional branch, if mapID=X(dungeon that you are on that moment)
Teleport player to X,X (the entrace of that dungeon)
You would be able to add as many MApID as you would like, with different teleport places. So, 1 teleport item would work for every place.
I think that is what you were looking for?
I figured out my big error: I was confused where to place the Set Escape event. -_- I know it's relative, but I placed it when you enter a dungeon. Then, when you use an escape stone, you teleport to the world map below the dungeon in question.
