Chances are, since Aeria Games made it, no. Their trackrecord is pretty bad when it comes to making good games.
Actually I think you'll find that Aeria doesn't actually make the games, they host them, plus SMT is kind of fun, if a lil' grindy at times.
In terms of this, Koei are the makers of it, which means it's going to be (And is from what I've played) as good as the rest of the DW series. I'm in the beta right now, and apart from one bug that's been getting up everyone's nose (For good reasons) it's a pretty solid game. The control scheme is pretty much identical, especially if using a controller, and from what I've heard from other users the keyboard is good aswell.
Not too many weapons at the moment, but I have my Wish list for when everything is implemented and the black screen bug is fixed and destroyed completely.

Ah, I didn't realize that. I might give it a test run when it releases then. Nothing better than slaying a bunch of baddies when you're bored.

I tried it, joined Shu, but my computer lacks the processing prowess to fully play it. Otherwise I would. :/
I love Dynasty Warriors. I've already played this some. Not much, though.

I played this a lot when it first came out and was in some clan, but I never play online games without RL friends for long so I quit lol. It's pretty good, really.
For those thinking of playing it: if you are a DW fan, you will love it. It looks great, runs great (if you have a decent graphics card, no dream machine is needed), has all the action of its console brothers (you are going to want a controller, probably), and is 100% free. Team battles are fun (though the last time I played there was a lot of bs connection issues going on) and there is a lot to do.
The AI is as retarded as ever--in fact, it kind of hits a new low with DWO with the lead parades of peons --> turn around --> obliterate --> rinse and repeat gameplay. But I guess people who like DW tend not to mind that anyway.
I might go back to it sometime since the new Heavenly Strike content includes the option to join Lu Bu's forces.
