RPG Maker XP problem. Topic

When I download it, and then try to open it, it says that it can't obtain a serial number from the download server.

Is there something wrong with my computer (its a vista, i don't know the specifications)? is it just down? If it is just down, why has it been so for months?

help please...

I run Windows 7, and I seem to recall forcing the game into compatibility mode for Windows XP before it allowed me to do anything. However, that was still when it used the "ntiles" server. It seems the server has since moved, as evidenced by the various blogs by the maker of this game.

He was trying to register the product, but I believe the two problems go hand-in-hand.

Run RMXP as an administrator; It'll shit bricks otherwise. You can't even test play a game without admin access. They completely botched making RMXP follow security procedures on Vista/Windows 7.

I have no problems running RMXP on Windows 7 and I don't run as administrator.
