Hello,
I'm currently modifying the pictures for Omega Cerberus but I have a bit of a problem.
I have this blue background residue around my text which really messes things up.
Is there any way to avoid this? I usually use a black background and that works fine when I import the file but the problem here is that I really need a black outline otherwise the text will be hard to read with the planet in the background. So if I import with a black background, then I'll lose the black outline as well.
I could turn off the anti-aliasing but then the text looks really ugly.

you have to turn off the anti-aliasing. that, or erase the blue border manually.
but imo, the anti-aliasing looks fugly as hell at that low of resolution.

The font you're using is all spacey and futuristic, and would still look good without anti aliasing?
There's at least 2 ways I can think of to draw an outline around text easily.
A) Make 5 copies of the text, 4 in black and 1 in white. Place all 4 black copies stacked together and then move each one 1 pixel diagonally (1 NW, 1 NE, 1 SW, and 1 SE) away from the center. Place the white text in the center and you have outlined text.
This is also how outlined text is usually handled in RMVX, by the way.
B) Select the piece of text and then increase the size of the selection by 1 pixel. Fill that selection in completely with black and place the original piece of text (which I presume is white) in the center and you have outlined text.
As for the issue with transparency, just draw the whole thing on a color that isn't black. Say magenta.

You could opt to use a drop shadow instead of a flat black border.
