Ok, so how can I, in Rpg Maker VX, make it so that when I go to a new town, the name of the town is displayed, but there's a catch, the player must still be able to move when the map names appears, and after a few seconds it goes away.

Help with that is critical to the game I'm making.
Soif you can help me with this please assist.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

One relatively simple way is to show a picture.

First you will need a picture that has the town name. It can have underlines or a banner or flowery graphics or whatever, if you think that's more attractive than plain text. Making it fairly large is probably good.

Now make an event in the town's main map. The event's trigger should be "parallel process". This event will do six commands:
- Show picture
- Move picture
- Wait
- Move picture
- Hide picture
- Turn switch on

The reason we move the picture instead of just showing or hiding it is because it looks nicer for the text to fly in from offscreen than to just suddenly appear. When you show the picture, start it off the side of the screen, say maybe 300 pixels past the left side of the screen, which would have coordinates of something like (-300, 70). Then move the picture to the right with the "move picture" command. After waiting some proper amount of time (a second or two), move it right some more, all the way off the right side of the screen. Then you're done with the picture and can hide it.

You can add sound effects to this if you want. Lots of games use a quiet whoosh sound effect as the name flies onto the screen.

The switch can be handled one of two ways:
1) If you want the town name to only show up the first time the player enters the town, you'll need each town to have its own switch. The second page of this event should depend on that switch being on, and that page should do nothing.
2) If you want the town name to show up every time the player enters the town, you'll only need one switch for every town in the game. Like method 1, the second page of this event should depend on that switch being on, and that page should do nothing. Now just edit the teleport events that cause the player to leave the town, and have them turn the switch back off whenever the player leaves the town. That way when the player re-enters, it'll happen again.
