VX MAPPING TRICK?

I've made the jump from Rm2k3 to VX and I've started to put together my maps. I'm ripping most of the graphics myself and I understand that VX has built-in tile set limitations (without the use of a script), so I'm trying to be economical about what I put on those tiles. Just one question: Where is my cut and paste tool?
In Rm2k3 there was this amazing device next to the pen and fill tool that allowed you to crop specific tiles and paste them elsewhere. Beyond letting you move a tree from one place to another, it let you move autotiles exactly as they appear, allowing for a variety of effects in an efficient way. I know about the Shift + paint trick, but the cut and paste tool was so much more elaborate. Is it still in the program somewhere?

Right-click on the map and drag. Hold shift to freeze tiles.
I'm pretty sure the tool I'm talking about (puts a marching ants border around the selected tiles) could select an entire map. And the right-click and drag method unfortunately makes the autotiles reformat themselves when pasted. Guess my only options is to play Tetris with my tilesets.

Hold shift when pasting and it won't.
Also, if you want to copy an entire map, just copy the map itself - could be troublesome if you have a ton of events.
author=Fallen-GrieverFun fact: VX's copy and paste tool can copy (and paste!) a shit load more tiles than 2k3 could.> Opens 2K3
> Selects "select map elements" tool
> Presses CTRL+A
> Presses CTRL+C
> Has just copied the entire freakin' map.

Bad wording on my part, as I was confusing the standard tile selection from your chipset junk, which would only let you pick 6x6 tiles at a time. Irritating when trying to put giant Suikoden trees and shit like that on your map, but you can't select all of it. VX fixed that, although RM2k3 and VX are technically on par when it comes to what Drakonais is referring to.
