GRAPHICAL OPTIONS FOR VX

I have been away for a while. Have any new graphical options or trends for VX opened up in my absence?
When I left, it was basically RTP, Mack, or try to DIY, with the latter usually being based on one of the former if you didn't happen to be a gifted artist. What new options are there now?

I am (slowly) working on a chapset for VX that uses the Dragon Quest I/II SNES remake tiles! Give me another few months.
The only other trend I've seen is the use of panoramas as maps in VX.

RPGMakerVX.NET has Lunarea and Celianna's tiles, but they are more for cute games, I suppose. That's about it.
There is always (to me) an overabundance of cute and a lack of the alternative. For instance, the RTP is already really cute, and Mack is not UNCUTE. Perhaps it is because they are easier to make.
Anyway, I will check those out. Thanks, gentlemen. Anyone else found anything?

There was this game called everyone is grey or something that had some more apocalyptic tiles. do a search for that and then steal the resources

Also, I am looking for your typical fantasy stuff (which makes this that much easier), just preferably something that looks different from what everyone else is looking for. Which, I know, is what everyone is looking for. : )

VX's artistic resources aren't as stagnant as some may think. RPGMakerVX.net still has a lot of artists willing to make stuff, though a lot of it is more uniform to the RTP style. I'm not a huge fan of the styles employed, but giving credit where it's due; at least they're making graphics and not sitting around doing nothing.
I actually am a member of that site, I just never post. Anyway, thanks for those. They seem more like add-ons than a new style. There's a 90% chance I'm just going to wind up starting off with Mack anyway...that was the case when I started this thread, and it's still the case now.

YDS has made or been a part of like a million games. (Interestingly, I wasn't aware of her working on any back in the ghostlight days when I first knew her.) Which one do you mean?

They have a bunch of pretty diverse styles.
If someone was referring to the graphics from Eyes Without A Face (a game I incidentally just became aware of), it would be awesome if Team Cascade had decided to release some or all of those publically, but they did not.

Craze: "Why don't you just re-size RM2K/3 graphics?"I know that some of the "chapsets" are or seem to be theodore graphics resized for vx, so theoretically I could do that myself, except that my ineptitude for manipulating pixels is legendary and however simple it may be, I'd probably find a way to fail.)

What do you mean by a public release? I just used Theodore. Anything else that was new were made by Tardis (moooostly) and I. Charsets were just REFMAP edits as well. It's not too hard to make these edits, seriously. It just takes a bit of time.
I make all of my maps by hand in Photoshop and cut them up into layers. It's time consuming, but I love mapping and visuals so I don't mind.
Also, I've only been apart of a few games, really. The four main ones are:
- Muse (Theodore and Dajhail graphics)
- Eyes Without a Face (Theodore and original)
- Bit Bonton (Theodore a little bit .... then mostly original)
My active one is The Long Goodbye, which is REFMAP and heavy duty edits. Battle sprites, facesets etc. are all custom made.
I joined GL just to look at stuff awhile ago. Though I was not serious about game making at the time. I didn't really have any substantial project until Muse which is probably dead for good.

All I meant was that EWaF was encrypted. Also, there are a lot more games than that on your gamepage.
Why is Muse dead for good? What happened to Azn? Have I missed something?
