FIRST TIME CREATOR...

Hello everyone. I am a first time creator, and new to this site. I just wanted to ask a small question. I plan on making my first game with RPG Maker XP... I plan for it to span 3 games... a trilogy if you will... I know it sounds like I must be thinking way to far ahead, but I usually work better when I have things laid out in front of me...
Anyhow... I had a small question... I plan for the first of the three games to be done entirely with just RPG Maker's stock entities... I may put in the updated looking battlers created by Naramura, and perhaps have a custom window, and of course custom title... but beyond that it'll mostly be stock...
What I am trying to ask is... because of this, will there even be any reason to post it to this site... or try to post it I should say. I don't want to put something up that would be a waist of everyones time. Granted... just because it will all be stock does NOT mean I am not attempting to put every bit of effort the limitations the stock entities will allow me to put in... I just don't want to get in over my head by trying something to large with the first game... especially since this is my first time.
So yes... would there be reason to place the game on this site?

Of course, why not. As long as you make good use of the stock materials and create a well-rounded game, I do not see a reason why it would be rejected. I've seen plenty of games on here that use stock (a more technical term of RTP) material exclusively .
There are a lot of games here that use the XP RTP or sprites created by people other than themselves (give credit if you do). As long as you put a lot of effort into the game, you should put it up and are always welcomed to put it up. It will be the RMN staff who will determine if it should be public on the site. It'll all depend on it's map quality and your game description.
It's likely enough that you will get halfway through your games and then start hating them yourself.
Either way, if you do submit them understand that you should give an adequate description/summary and have reasonably presentable screenshots(e.g. not large empty rooms) or you will reduce your chances of getting approved. So when submitting, put some effort into it.

For this reason I would NOT make a trilogy of games based off of the RPG Maker XP if I were you. When you are making a game, especially when it's your first game, you don't want to bite off more than you can chew. Otherwise you will probably end up getting overwhelmed and sick of looking at your own work. My suggestion is keep it simple, play some games on RPGmaker.net for inspiration. Then when you have a couple of games under your belt and you understand scripting and everything else, then make a trilogy.
But hey nobody listens to me anyway.

To be entirely honest, I have played every RMXP, VX, and 2k3 game on this site with at least a rating of three or more, my personal favorite being Balmung Cycle, and the Phantasia Remake... but that's besides the point. To be honest, I've never gotten tired of my own work... being a graphic designer myself, I tend to surprise people with the fact that I never seem to get bored with repetitive work.
As for getting tired of the games halfway through, I've already written each games script, well... almost each game... I'm about half way through the third... and the game series is based of my own amature trilogy of novels so... there shouldn't be to much threat of myself biting off more then I can chew there. I am well aware of the hardships brought on by trying to make a game, even if it is just a game made with an engine like RPG Maker XP.
I appreciate your original suggestions though, and thank you for them. As I said, I have played many games from this site, as well as more well known commercial RPG's... I've even gone back and read my own books of which this game trilogy is based, all in anticipation of starting the project. I also must say I have no intention of doing all of the games at once. Each will be done step by step one at a time, and each game will gain its own individual attention, and focus.
With that I also want to have it known that only the first of the three games will be using the stock work alone... With the second and third I will hope to delve into much more custom content. Anyhow, thank you again... and thank you to everyone else who has answered my question, and given your suggestions. I will definitely keep them in mind whilst I am working.
If you're a graphic designer, why would you want to use "stock" graphics??
Still, it's a good idea to have your first game to be default-ish, otherwise it's very likely that you'll abandon the project.

If it fits the minimum criteria to have a page up here, then give it a go.
Lots of people here felt like they couldn't make a game up to par with some of the top raters around and just quit, which is really sad. If that were the case, then society wouldn't flourish.

For the very reason you just said. i want my first game to be defultish to keep from getting in over my head, and to help me learn more.
author=AsreyethLike, really? All of them? Shit, that's a lot of games!

I played a lot of RPG Maker VX games before uploading my own project to see if it was worthy. I tried to do my best and it got accepted. I think you should just do your best and it'll be okay!
