DEAD ISLAND

Well the game will never live up to what was promised in the trailer. We'll probably get a regular first person zombie slaughter-game with an emphasis on melee.
But damn that trailer is sweet.

I was a little bewildered by the reaction towards this trailer, frankly. It's been done, and it reinforced my belief that if you freeze-time/slowdown-time/reverse-time a clip, and add mournful music to it, it's like instant love bait.
The fact of the matter is, that trailer was zero content artsy fluff, destined to throw its game into over-hype mode and be received lukewarmly upon release.

Pretty awesome looking, but I'mk sure it will be like Dead Rising, sub-par.
haha that's so awesome Space_Monkey
very good job xD

Wow I thought it was going to suck but I loved your trailer space_monkey! Well done, really!
I also really like the original trailer, it struck a chord.

a well-done short, I admit.
but I agree with hexatona and cho. No unique gameplay or interesting premises shown? No interest.
It was not shown why we should play this game instead of L4D or Resident Evil or Dead Rising.
It did nothing to distinguish itself in an already saturated market.

I don't think a pre-pre-pre-release game trailer would show unique and individualized, fully rendered gameplay moments. Thats a tall order. I think the movie was great at setting the tone, the location, and the idea (its a zombie game).
The market may be only minusculy saturated with zombie games, and zombie DLC's, but none of them have been on an island resort or tagged with RPG elements.
Here's hoping for something different.

I consider video games art, so that's why I find that to be an awesome trailer, despite it's lack of presentation of gameplay or content. I wouldn't be in it just for the game, but the experience you take away from it. I won't judge the game just yet, as there isn't anything to judge.
The music sounds like what Lost does with the music. I thought it was pretty cool, even if you said it's been done before.
I think I saw that minecraft one on g4's attack of the show. Very cool.
ps. There's also a mario and a few others too. They're ok but not as good as the minecraft one.
