I come up with more game ideas on a regular basis than I know what to do with, or have time to actually bring into existence, so I decided to make a thread for them. Feel free to list ideas for games that you have, but don't want to/don't have the time to make. Include as much detail as you like.
Bazooka Bob: A side-scrolling platformer where you play as a marine out for revenge on the army that experimented on him and surgically replaced his head with a bazooka.
I know I had others, I just can't think of them atm, I'll probably post them later.

I had a game idea where you control some sort of medieval detective. That detective isn't very detectivish however and tend to think that fireball is the solution to problems. He or she still ends up solving the mystery.
Edit: Oops, didn't read the topic carefully enough.

I always wanted to make a Vampire RPG, where you could either become a vampire or a slayer and carry out various missions throughout in a small town (I was thinking like 1700s). The problem is that it would have to branch out too often to work well and would take forever to make.
sbester's idea reminds me of a concept idea I had once. A two player game where one player is the enemy of the other. They would act separately. For example, one is the good guy, and one is the bad guy. At the bad guy's turn, he goes to place X, talk to people, set up traps, hire mercenaries etc to f*** up the good guy. At the good guy's turn, he has to survive everything the bad guy left for him. They would basically alternate turns at different stages/maps/places. At the end they would meet and fight. But I'm not sure how that simultaneous action would work.
That's actually a really cool idea. Maybe the last battle between the two could be controlled by ai and their strength and skills they used would be based on all of the actions, choices, character building, etc. that the person did the whole game. Would make the whole game leading up to the final battle become the player's actions during the final battle.

Or you could make it two-player, and simplify one of the player's controls. For example, the bad guy would only shoot bullets and time his shots (using a single key, like shift), and the good guy would dodge the bullets and attack some bodyguards or something. The two players could split the keyboard.
Had an idea for a game, a platformer, where you play as a boomerang toting penguin that kills all the dinosaurs, giving a definitive explanation as to their extinction.
Endless Wave: A game where you are the captain of a submarine and explore the world for money profit, but the sub would need fuel. I scrapped it due to it being to complex.
Blood Knight Jive: A expanding story that takes place in space. Catch was, that the captian design kept changing, so it was a failure.

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I had an idea for a Phoenix Wright clone set in the Chrono Trigger universe called Chancellor Yakra: Ace Attorney. You play as the chancellor from 1000 AD. The first case would be convicting Crono of kidnapping the princess, and after he escapes and travels through time... plot twist! You travel through time too! Then you do one case in 2300 AD, one case in 600 AD, one case in 65,000,000 BC and one case in 12,000 BC, all closely related to the original Chrono Trigger plot, before returning to the present. The final case is the Rainbow Shell sidequest in Chrono Trigger - in which you must prove that King Guardia is guilty of treason.
I managed to create about 90 seconds of gameplay before remembering how much I hated editing graphics. Oh well, it had a nice run.

I had the idea of an RPG that takes place in a labyrinth. Basically, a lot of people live inside a big labyrinth and for various reasons they believe that they are reincarnated there over and over until they somehow escape.
Getting lost is mostly optional though. People live in various villages scattered around the labyrinth and the paths between them has been known for generations. If you want to go from one village to another, you just need to follow the signposts. Further, since the labyrinth has been explored for generations, there are sign scattered around that will lead you back to one of the main roads. So, finding back to a village is never hard. Still, finding other things is however and the game would only appeal to people who like labyrinths.

Well As I Stated in a New Topic That I Made That I Guess Might be Moved Here or Something I've Come Up With a NIGHTS RPG Idea For Others to Make. The Name is Just a Working Name at the Moment Though as I Said Before This is For Others to Try to Make. Like a RPG Game Making Challenge Of Sorts. Anyone Interested?
NIGHTS RPG LEGEND OF THE IDEYA & VISITORS: A NIGHTS RPG Where the Main 3 Marens Must WOrk Together With the Visitors & Each Other to Stop Wizeman & Other Villains Before they Tear Up All 3 Realms. Many of the Nightmarens Can be the Bosses and It'd be a 5-6 Team of Playable Characters in the Game. Meaning NIGHTS, Reala, Jackle, & the Visitors Are all Playable and Are Working Together Final Fantasy Style WIth a Party of 3-4 Depending On Where the Action is Taking Place to Stop Wizeman The Wicked and Another Evil Villain From Conquering the Waking World & Nightopia. I.E. 4 For the Visitors in the Waking World & Nightopia Fighting Nightmarens and Other Enemies and 3 For the 3 Jesters NIGHTS, Reala & Jackle Fighting in Nightmare and Nightopia Against Nightmarens and the Boss Nightmarens. There Can be Many Secrets in the Game and a Few SUPERBOSSES to Fight. Maybe Even Crossover With the Sonic World and Have Sonic & Friends Help Stop Wizeman as Playable Characters Which Include Sonic, Tails, Cosmo, Knuckles, Amy, Neo Metal Sonic, Shadow, Silver, and Maybe Cream & Cheese and Rouge & E123-OMEGA.
What Do you Think of This Idea For a Game? Anyone Interested in Making One?

Lol.
@giga: would you mind not typing everything with a capital letter at the beginning, it makes your text unreadable...

I was going to post in "what are you thinking about" that I was thinking about axemurdering people who are compulsive capitalizers
is that entire post the title of a game

not unreadable, but it did strain my eyes to look at it o-o
For a couple of RMN contests I had these ideas, they're only very rough things with hardly any gameplay ideas.
Opposites: A single-player hide and seek game where you would alternate between playing a nazi jew-hunter and a jew hiding from the nazis.
Escape: Play as a passenger on the sinking Titanic trying to get to a lifeboat.
Scary Movie: Jaws fishing simulator.
A couple of other ideas I've also had variations of (and some are not completely discarded but seriously I won't even be upset if you use them) is a game with a pre-set timeline with major events but you play as someone not involved in the massive things going on. Basically a game would take place over five days but on day three there'd be an invasion force and war would break out and stuff in the personal story would change and you would have that original set time to complete a certain task. The thought was that limiting the length of the game could make the game more of an "open world" game but with scripted global events at certain times in the timeline rather than in the storyline.
Other ideas are various simulators. "10 days of knight" was a feudal lord simulator. A long time ago I also had a board game trading sim idea about trading slaves. Buying/capturing them from Africa and then sailing the Atlantic to sell them in the Americas. I think I had just seen Amistad or something.
Not to mention that fantasy sport management game. That would combine a team manager game with an adventure/RPG part where you'd recruit team-members, bribe officials and assassinated opposing players. All in the name of winning some glorious title.
Oh godsdamn. Also the battlefield strategy game that would be in the perspective of a general in an HQ tent. Where he'd basically get reports from the battlefield and get to make big strategic decisions and then hope that the soldiers themselves would pull through in the end.
It's true what they say. Ideas are cheap. I probably have a couple of hundred more that have just slipped my mind.

I found this hilarious, I like it. xD
Sure I'll try not to do that.
@Versalia: Seriously you think you can just murder everyone who's a bloody capper? How are you going to do that in a black hole? XD. That was clever there.
You have to admit I came up with a great idea for a NIGHTS RPG fangame don't you think?

I'll share a couple, I suppose (I've got soooo many >.<). Mind you, they're either really short, or pretty long. Hide tags for the longer ones, okie? ^.^

COMBAT: TOKENS
When defeating monsters of different types and equipped with the orb of that type, you can gain points to spend on those monsters' attacks â€" think upgraded blue magic.
The Witching Hour
Starts with character in bed/just heading off to bed. Random thoughts keep occurring and they keep thinking stuff. Then they go to sleep… but the clock hits midnight and ticking (BGM) stops. Curious to see if the clock is still working, character climbs out of bed and turns the light on. Then it's up to you what you do… You only have an hour.
Basically it's an open-ended game with various endings. You only have one hour to explore and try to find out what is going on. There will be quite a few endings.
Maybe set it as a visual game? Book thingy, where the pictures/backgrounds come up and you have a map of where you are and where you're going.
A map of your room, then you get teleported into some kind of maze where you have to find your way back. You meet other people in the maze and can join up with them or leave them and try to find you way back within the hour.
Fairytales
A group of teenagers get sent into a mystical story book of fairy tales. There they have to confront the characters and defeat the evil guys to get back the book's pages.
Three teens are having a sleepover when the power goes out. They decide to get some candles and do something fun, when the youngest announces that she got a weird book for her birthday. They take it out and begin to read it when a strange light envelops them.
When they awake they are in the book's tales and have to act the part of the damsels of the tale and defeat the bad guy.
Each character is in a different story and they have to collect pages to return to the real world. Whilst there they meet Nara, Leo and Joey, the ‘princes' of the tales.
The fairytales were never so feminist before.
Random Game Ideas
• Strongest party member is kidnapped instead of weakest in a turn around
• Battle where you have to fight a monster but that's really an illusion and the ‘creature' you fight is your friend. Maybe have it that you kill this friend for a more touching end-battle scene whilst the illusionist enemy gets away? Or have said captured friend under some kind of mind control.
• Status effects based on emotions â€" stoic for silence, hilarity for stun, crying for blindness and enraged for berserk. Maybe have the conditions be applicable out of battle in a choice-making NPC talk way. Also have titles that allow different effects â€" i.e. more chance of inflicting an effect would be ‘Drama Queen' or ‘Attention Whore‘
• Hero's younger sibling dies when they are young. Many years later s/he finds and raises a child who turns out to be their sibling reincarnated. The child falls in love with their ‘big sis/bro' (really a crush?) but is considered as a younger sister/brother by the hero.
• Hero is part of a jury or investigation squad checking out the facts behind a case.
• A dungeon/labyrinth under a city constructed with human bones. Like a mortuary but using bones to decorate the walls. Maybe opening under a church and leading to an abandoned abbey/manor?
• Trapped underground and have to find a way out within a certain time limit.
• Random monster during fight is a treasure chest that once attacked gives an item.
• If fighting inside a house you can check any cupboards and whatnot to find treasure.

Character must save people/help others to make up for the forgotten sins of their previous life before being able to move on to the next realm of existence. The history of their previous life is forgotten but by helping living souls they regain some of their memories. Redeeming themselves through the process.
Gate Keeper: A nameless, faceless woman who guards the Gates of Hirijura and assigns missions to the Santha. She doesn't talk much and tends to her garden when she isn't busy. Very protective of the souls of children.
Sinners: Those souls who choose not to redeem themselves but stay on earth. They torment the living and usually have grudges against family and/or friends in their past lives. Since they have no memory of their past lives they are chained to certain people and become spiteful towards them, even though they may have once loved the same people. Usually they try to cause trouble in the living world by possessing others.
Santha: The souls of the dead who are trying to redeem themselves through acts of protection and kindness. They do not remember their past lives or sins but can't move into the next realm of being until they are deemed worthy to. Usually they team up with each other and try to offset any damage done by Sinners, though there are cases where they have to interact with the living.
Sained: The innocent and holy souls that can enter the Gates of Hirijura without incident. Most of the time they have no problem doing so, but there have been cases where they become lost or need someone to guide them to the Gates. Some have even been attacked by Sinners that were once close to them in life and require rescue and/or protection on their journey to the Gates.
Mediums/Spirit Readers/ETC - Dead-Touched: The Dead-Touched, or DTs for short, are the few living that can actually interact with dead souls on some level. Some can just see the souls, others can actually talk to and hear souls, while the strongest (and rarest) may actually host souls. They are usually few and very far between.
Guides: There are three Guides, all women, who don disguises both living and soul. They are said to appear whenever they like and often give clues both good and bad. They protect and destroy, heal and damage, are evil and good.
