MOVIE SUGGESTIONS...
Posts
I just watched Valhalla Rising and I didn't like it... at all. This, for me, fits in the same category of Inland Empire, when Lynch pushed things too far.
It's an experimental movie and I'm sure some people really liked it but it was too far out for me.

+1 on Darken's suggestion.
Another good movie is Shawshank Redemption.
I would also check out A Beautiful Mind, it really does a good job at going down the rabbit hole.
Ohh! Also, Schindler's List, for being a better movie than Saving Private Ryan.

Seen all of those Radnen :).
Wow, Moon was so awesome. I loved every minute of it. This is exactly the kind of movie I enjoy.
Thanks for the great suggestion. Darken's movie is next.

Werewolf in Women's Prison
It's a porno where a woman and her boyfriend are camping and get attacked by a werewolf. He bites it (pun intended!), and she passes out only to wake up in a small prison where she gets raped (once). That night she turns into a werewolf and mutilates everyone, with mucho blood, entrails, and someone gets ripped in half when they are pulled through the jail bars. It's incredibly stupid, violent and stupidly violent :D.

Otherwise, if you haven't seen "The Crow" with Brandon Lee then what are you waiting for!? lol
Because it was awful. It's a decent-looking movie but with really sub-par acting, a really flimsy plot and it had dialogue that made me throw up in my mouth a bit a couple of times. It reminded me of every "woe is me my life is blackness" wierdo I knew in high school and it was written as though they all got together and decided to make a movie.
I've never really watched many foreign movies, so naturally, I don't have any to suggest. I do however have a great movie that I saw recently to suggest.
It's called "Inception". Now, that article says it's a Sci-Fi movie. But that's not really what I was thinking of it as when I was watching it. Although parts of it are unrealistic, maybe even futuristic, I would'nt have thought of it as a Sci-Fi.
That description can also be sort of misleading. Basically, the movie is about this group of people who develop a machine that allows them to engineer a dream and bring others into it, or enter another's dream. They use this to put ideas into people's heads, and try to affect things that happen in real life.
Overall, I thought It was an amazing movie. I hope you try it, and if you do, I hope you enjoy it.
Also, a quick note. In that article it has a plot section. I would suggest not reading that unless you want the storyline pretty much revealed to you. If you don't care, then go for it!

No it is pretty obviously Sci-fi. There's hardly any argument at all for calling it "not sci-fi". (*Goes into five pages of debate about what sci-fi is*)

To each his own I suppose, but that's my favorite movie and I could care less how bad that may make me look. Anyone will chalk up emotions as emo nowadays; just because the MC looks gothic doesn't make him emo in that sense.
In any case; glad you've enjoyed some of the movies you've watched Creation.
Some great choices in this thread.

scifi =/= lasers, spaceships, aliens all the time!
Summer Wars is pretty damn amazing; actually. I'm usually one to scoff at any anime movie that isn't Miyazaki or someone like that, but if you feel like you want to watch a movie about eating the internet, then Summer Wars is your movie.
hmmmmmmmm if you want to watch a good movie then watch the Wrost man . it is one of the best movie i had watch it so many times and even its craze is still in my blood so therefore i will reccomend you that you may watch it once

Any of you guys ever watch The Game? I just recently saw it. It was great.
With Michael Douglas and Sean Penn? My pals and I used to rip on that one pretty bad ("Who did this to me!? WHY!?"). All said and done, the absurdity of the concept was just too much for me to resist not liking it at least a bit.
Class of 1999 (ignore the sequel)
It's a B-movie about violent highschool gangs fighting each other and cyborg teachers. The younger you are, the more awesome it is.
Try to overlook the fashion x)

I liked it....
Seems like other people did: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/1078955-game/
Hmmm, Hot Fuzz is a good movie. Transamerica is alright. Can't think of anything else now.
Just randomly suggesting movies I like:
Old Boy by Park Chan-wook. Probably one of my favorite movies ever. For sure my favorite Korean movie. It's really gritty and has a lot of action fueled by vengeance. The ending is really great. Part of it is very predictable...while part of it is really unpredictable. If that makes sense. (it'd be easier if I just said spoilers but I won't.
The Fall by Tarsem Singh. This movie is absolutely god damn beautiful. It claims to have absolutely no CGI too. Which makes it even more amazing. It's very fantasy genreish. But I think it's worth a watch just to admire how remarkable some scenes are, even if as a whole the movie may kind of fall apart, especially towards the end.
