BUFUDDLED QUEST VX?

The idea was thrown around before of having some kind of community event in the vein of the Befuddled Quest series. However, instead of using the 2k3 engine, it would be attempted on a more modern engine, like XP, or VX.
As I understand it, what Befuddled Quest was (and somebody correct me on this, as I've never actually played any of them), is a game where the community gets together, and makes puzzles based on a certain theme. For example, the latest entry of the series (Zack to the Future) involved time travel, of some sort. What the theme behind this game could be is up for discussion.
I'm not sure if I'd be the right person to "run" it, though, seeing as I haven't the slightest clue what this kind of thing involves. If I do end up leading the event, I'd have to look at the threads for previous Befuddled Quests, and download a few versions to get an idea of how they worked. Who ends up leading the event is a moot point, though, unless there are other people who want to jump on this.
Side note: I doubt the title of this project, if it ever gets off the ground, would literally be Befuddled Quest VX, but it's a placeholder until something morestupid epic comes up.

Yeah, it started out as an extension of the Mapping Contests we were having wayyy back when.
I figured, instead of just a map, let's each make a puzzle instead and I'd combine them into a "game", slap on a makeshift story and bob's-your-uncle *poof* we had a game!
So people would submit a single map and then I would place them into a single RM2k3 project. In the first 3 I just made it linear (so finishing one puzzle would simply link you to the next one, in the arbitrary order I chose to do it in). In the last 2, I made it so that the puzzles could be visited in any order, and you didn't need to complete all of them to finish the game.

I figured it started out like that. Thanks for the background, Kentona!
Anyway, I've a fewstupid random things going around my head, as my muse has been attracted to this idea like a moth to a flame, or something.
I'm not attached to any specific engine, or a setting, or much of anything, but I was kinda thinking on having a subtitle of Secret of the Inner Sanctum (Hello, Might and Magic reference!), or some snarky skew thereof.
I'm also thinking that it could incorporate tools, like a hookshot, or maybe a whip or knife that hits switches from afar. In the end, I want to find a way to abuse scripts in ways that makes 2K/2K3 users jealous. I have no clue how to implement such gameplay elements off-hand, but I'm still essentially talking to myself, here.
