If you haven't already heard of this.

The Humble Indie Bundle #3 (pay what you want for five awesome indie games)

Pay what you want for some awesome games and help support two charities. All of the games are DRM-free and support Mac, Windows, and Linux.

That's so so so so so awesome.
big fan of these, and i honestly don't know why VVVVVV wasn't in the last one.

14 days left, guys. pay what you want, but if you're gonna pay, make sure you pay at least enough to cover credit card processing fees! maybe they don't need the help, but i still think it's a courteous thing to do when dealing with pay what you want sales.

fake edit: ahahahahahah i went to the main page and they've already made $270K. when I went there three hours ago they were at $120K. fucking wild.

Yeah, that's really neat.
It's pretty sad for me that 'I' have never heard of ANY of these games; and yet, I make games...

*sigh*

But still, I remember the second one sporting some pretty good ones, so it's cool they are doing another one! I guess I should throw in some cash...if I had the money to do so. X_x
The one I was most anxious to play didn't work... the crayon one. :(
on an aside, someone tracked a "pay what you want" game sale - you know, where you could pay a friggin dollar to buy a game - and they found that scumbags pirated the games anyway. I don't remember the details on it, but something like half the installs they tracked (somehow) were pirated versions.

EDIT:
oooo Crayon Physics Deluxe! That looked like a rad game!

"rad". That explains everything. Crayon Physics deluxe did look like an awesome game.
Two out of two games I downloaded so far didn't work :(

Worked fine for me on my ageing computer (Win7 32-bit, P4 3.2GHz, 2GB RAM, 128MB Gfx card). Haven't tried the rest though.
wow, that is an awesome "aging" computer!

I think you're talkin about humble indie bundle 1. The creators even said that when people e-mailed them, interested in purchasing, but unable to pay at the time, or couldn't get paypal or what have you, they would just give it to them and donate on their behalfs, so this (plus haveing all these games DRM FREE) pretty much obliterated so called "pirateer's" arguments against buying games commercially.
Awesome, I've participated in all the Humble Bundles to date. Am a big supporter of these (have always paid above the average)

Incidentally, they've now got a deal where buying the bundle lets you play the Minecraft Beta for free for a few weeks now. Ace.

Wow, hello, SovanJedi! You know it's the dead fish at the very bottom of the barrel!(in fact, hope i wasn't too offensive...), what I really couln't forgive myself, though, was you being there! on the forum! and no one, nor myself having been able to make you repair the "Deku-tree bug"(A Monster's Tail)! seriously.
Some updates:

Bonus Game! Everyone who buys the bundle gets a free copy of Steel Storm!

Bundle in a Bundle! Pay more than the average of $4.88, and you'll receive all of the games in Humble Indie Bundle #2 as well!

Steel Storm is a top-down helicopter shooter although there's a third person mode. Looks alright. :3

I don't know why, but I have purchased every single Humble Indie Bundle with higher than average purchase prices. I have never played any of the games (though I did download them). I'm not really interested in any of the games, and I'm indifferent towards the EFF.

I suppose eventually I should try Braid, and maybe Trine.

Tbh, apart from the crayon physics one in this bundle, I don't see myself playing any of the others. Didn't like any of them, VVVVVV is essentially a trail and error game which aren't my type of games.

I saw a trailer for VVVVVV once that made it look mind-bending and awesome, though I got the impression it wouldn't be much fun unless you became intimately familiar with the layout.
A lot of game trailers make the game look better than it actually is but I'm not saying VVVVVV is a bad game, it's for a certain type of gamer so it's understandable why it's so popular.
