GUN/MAGIC ABS SYSTEM RPG MAKER 2003

I'm not as new to this program as you might of thought, knowing my age. But I'm not as experienced at it either. While I was creating LoZ:LiT, and JailBreakOut 1:Kindom of Jade(the games I'm creating now I mean), I started wandering off to a different subject I could use for a different game, as usual. But the problem was, my lack of experience, so I tried teaching myself, that didn't work, so I found a tutorial game online, and when that didn't work and couldn't find any tutorials, I just about gave up! But then I realized that I could use what I did make for a magic system, but that idea dropped hard on my head when I realized how was I going to do it, for 2 questions:
1.How will I get it to where players don't have to just stand still to kill enemies?
2.How will I get characters that are enemies to be killed on one map, because I can't have you attack all enemies at the same time?

And even more things crawled into my mind about how to get the enemies to die, because when I tried it on my test dummy bill, who I made myself, the hp system I used on him didn't work at all, at first when I tried, he kept flashing back and forth, found the problem, fixed it, and he wasn't flashing, but he instead, wouldn't die!WTF!So, what I'm asking for is help, tutorials by using games, tutorials by thiis site, link me to them, whatever! I need some help and I need it now!

Edit:Seriously, do I need to put up a sign called need help for game?
I don't remeber anything in the rules about bumping topics, BUMP!
You're going to have a really tough time trying to make any sort of custom system without a solid knowledge of RPGmaker as well as variables and coordinates. I recommend starting with simple things, like simple uses of variables (number of times you've talked to someone, time of day, etc) and then moving on to more complicated ABS-like commands such as Memorize Hero Location. This all takes a long time and it's not something you'll pick up over night. There are some tutorials that can help (http://rpgmaker.net/tutorials/63/) but what you're talking about would be fairly hard without advanced knowledge, even with all the tutorials in the world. If someone were to write such a specific tutorial, they might as well make your battle system for you.

Speaking of making battle systems for you, I over very reasonable flat and hourly rates on RM eventing. Contact me if you're interested and I can get you a full price chart.
You searched the forum and the web for tutorials about custom battle systems/shoot system under RM2k3 and didn't find anything? I'd say try harder, bro. There are loads out there.

Are you familiar with the different uses you can make of variables, fork conditions and switches, and about the differences between Auto Start and Parallel Process? These are the keys to programming your own custom battle system so you should learn about these first.

Also if you want someone to understand what's wrong with your current game you have to be more specific about how you programmed what you did so far.

Well I started with VX a few years ago, when I was about 7 I think, and I started 2003 around 10 or something like that. I'm not gonna pay you for RM eventing, and I was trying to teach myself really, I got so close! But it ended up working best as magic, and I also need to learn variable damage and other stuff like that. And I know I'm not going to learn it overnight, I just don't want a boring game that does the same stuff over and over again! How would you like a game that was pretty much just, walk through here, do a side view battle, go here, do another battle, have a cutscene, you know, the old shit with a storyline thrown in. VX and XP were pretty much 2000 with magor differences, because of the battle system. I could take a look at a few of those tutorials again, but I couldn't find a gunner system, and I'm about ready to give up, I'll try again.

I assure you I'm no where NEAR as STUPID as one might think.

That isn't boring. Old style for games or not. If I am thinking of the right name, Eternal Paradise is one of those types, and is awesome.
pyrodoom, show me your event pages and I might be able to tell you how to fix your battle system.

O.K., problem is I deleted the event, meaning I have to do it again.
hey, http://www.pyxosoft.com/forums/index.php?topic=4.0

its a legend of zelda starter pack. it gives you examples with arrows. if your planning on using magic, you will probably do something similar to this. I don't know if it's exactly what you want but maybe it will point you in the right direction. took me like 3-4 days to figure this out and implement it in my game. Good luck!
