MOST LOVED MOST HATED RM GAMES

How can anyone hate the Way, its absolutely brilliant! Its better than 'A Blurred Line'! Well, maybe. But how can anyone hate it! Lun Calsari is the best!
This is coming from someone who likes it. But most peoples problems with The Way is basically because there's no "game" behind it. At the start of the game you can literally turn off the gameplay (even the mini games) which seems redundant. The game really should have had more focus on the duels (and less confusing) plus have the regular RPG battles cut out etc. Most fans can admit they only played the game for the story.

Along with what Darken has already mentioned above, I personally didn't care much for it after nearly all of the cool characters got killed off during the fifth act. Even then, it wasn't until the very end that the game upset me to the point of hating it which was only because I got the "bad" ending and it left me feeling like I had just wasted the past 20 or so hours. To get slapped in the face with "you aren't who you were led to believe you are and the only character that truly drove your entire quest throughout is unreachable, now continue to walk the path from where you started." isn't a very favorable ending no matter how much or how little you did to affect it.
If it isn't the destination but the journey that matters; what if, ultimately, they're both fruitless?

Why, it's just everyone's opinion. Not EVERYONE will like your game.
I really really liked Dhux's Scar. It may have been a train-wreck of a plot, but I loved it nevertheless. The characters were charming, there was fanservice for both genders, and the scenes between Sybil and her daughter almost made me cry. It was self-aware. It knew how to balance itself between gruesome murders and sweet moments. It's probably my favorite game on RMN, followed by Ascendance and A Blurred Line.
I enjoyed V&V and Castle Chase as well. I liked Forever's End despite the grand cliches, simply because I like jRPGs. It was like reminiscing of the good old days. I really hope it'll grown into its own story (and get rid of the bugs).
I agree with Corfaisus on this one. The Way just left me with an empty feeling of "so what?" (Speaking of which, I thought that Vacant Sky had this issue as well) I really disliked Rhue as a protagonist, and the fact that he managed to attract so many women really baffled me. I had absolutely no sympathy for him. He was just a puppet of some convoluted plot. Perhaps the Way can be seen as a deconstruction of morally questionable heroes and their ability to do good. Perhaps not.
Well, I hope I didn't turn this thread into "Discuss the Way".

@Saya : I also "really really liked Dhux's Scar", but wouldn't compare it with ABL in any ways, I also didn't catch on The Way much, except 2,3 middle parts, which were extremely fun, found Vacant Sky's story also a bit convoluted but at the same time, the game, a remarkable feat, story and gameplay wise, liked Forever'end much better than you did, classic but truly catching.
(I was tempted to compare my opinions to yours because on quite a few points there were very close, and because you made those points extremely clear, for me at least).

The problem about all of those was that they were way too hard or had fucking annoying passages. Still I couldn't stop trying, because the games were interesting, too. But those difficult parts sucked ass.
The Way really had all those passages in dark caves with boring fights and shit battling the same enemies again and again. Thank god you could activate immediate killing, but I remember that one scene with a flying creature approaching and cutting off your damn head again and again and I couldn't find way to avaid that thing.
Episode 4 had all that run around and talk shit in that huge and comfusing city which sucked ass.
Also I never saw all the endings of Episode 6, not even with googling and searching the The Way forums. There's no walkthrough for part 6 on YT either.
Dhux's Scar annoyed me because the hero was moving so fucking slowly and I collided with enemies because I got stuck at motherfucking invisible or tiny objects. The battles' difficulty was disgusting.
Paradise Blue was grinding and grinding and grinding... and too much searching for specific stuff in huge cities full of useless NPCs. Talking too them was waste of time. The ending was very unsatisfying, too.
All in all they all received quite a high rating by me in my reviews. Maybe those major weaknesses appeared because we aren't professionals after all or they just needed way more or more intense beta testing.

The Way Episode 6
Episode 4 even had enough twists to keep my interested. Episode 6 just drags on and on. Also, in regards to The Way's battles, I thought they were well balanced and very fun. The problem is that they weren't integrated at all into the story. Apparently no one on The Way cares enough to even mention all of the monsters that are everywhere.
Theres a few games that I don't think are particulary good but still hold a special place in my heart. For example, Legion Saga 2. It was one of the first rm games I ever played and was very fun, however the game is broken beyond belief. You can buy 'small hammers' in the game to upgrade your strength stat permanently... However these are so cheap that you can max out your strength within an hour of seeing them for the first time. Just use them to get Nastra strong as fuck and you're set. A lot of the characters you recruit are also completely useless in battle. Agram is one example. His stats are hilariously terrible.

Also, I've played tons and tons of bad RM games... There's no point in naming them all.
I'll borrow that one, if you don't mind!

I LOVE FINAL TEAR 3.
Game locked, no real help, to get though anything though the rpg maker engine, voice acting, please off. NOW! That is all. Most the charsets were premade from charas-project though, but not saying it's a bad thing.
