HAS ANYONE ATTEMPTED A REMAKE OF FINAL FANTASY 3? (NOT 6)

Considering Square Enix preferred the DS and all with 3D and seeing I won't be getting one (money is tight right now). Was wondering if anyone in the RPG maker scene actually attempted to do a 2D remake of the game? I looked all over the internet, I couldn't find anything.
If there isn't one, I'm considering that I might touch up the graphics for the monster sprites and donate it to this site just for the heck of it.

From what I recall, 3 is 6. Exact same game. Just 6, isn't it the remake for the Playstation?

He's talking about the actual FF3, not the mislabeled US-version of FF6.
I don't think anyone has done an FF3 remake; no one seems to ever complete remakes. Of course, there's always emulators.
Well, Vanit's doing a FF7 remake in rm2k3 with exactly replicated battle and menu systems, so FF3 in rpg maker is indeed possible, and a lot easier.

damn son the mid 90s is 'that' way *points*
If anyone is legit confused about what Final Fantasy III is, it's this game.

Well like I said, I might make a attempt myself to do one or just contribute graphical updates for the creatures unless I find the aborted wonderswan version type monsters somewhere on the internet. I could check with that wikia first.
EDIT: Then again the more I look at the 3D remake, maybe I should just buy it since it does seem better in terms of gameplay and everything else.

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

The DS remake of FF3 is almost identical to the original except for the graphics and the first two hours of gameplay. It's not like Sword of Mana or FF4 DS; it wasn't rebuilt from scratch, it was mostly just ported with relatively minor changes. The dungeons are identical right down to the placement of doodads, and the job system is completely unchanged.
The biggest difference is that you now get your four party members gradually and they each have a name and their own dialogue/personality. One of them is Cid's granddaughter or niece or something, while another is the prince of that busted up castle to your west. After the first 2 hours of gameplay, IIRC, the rest of the game is pretty much identical, except for some balance tweaks (for example, I think the late-game monsters that duplicate themselves do so far less often, so that they can be beaten without four dark knights).
The original NES game isn't actually very good to be honest, and people outside of Japan aren't really going to have much nostalgia for it. If you're gonna remake something, I say remake something awesome.
