CloseHey guys and gals! Wassup? It's me, Liberty and I've finally returned! And wow, does the site look kickin' or what?
Sweetness.
Okay, so I've been away a while and hey, I know many of you don't really care why, but for the few who do, here's the lowdown.
So, a LOT of things happened whilst I was away. Between car accidents, family problems, travelling, interrupted moving (twice!) money issues and computer crap let's just say I've been really, really busy. Like, super busy.
That and my computer was taken away by some assholes who, while it was in their custody, wiped it clean of, oh, EVERYTHING! Bastards. Thank God I had at least some sort of back-up, though it is an old one, so I lost a lot of stuff. ;.;
(FYI, I only found this out two days ago. Imagine the anger, my friends. Imagine it. There was more than a little Hulk rage happening.)
So, yeah, finally got the internet back on (like a whole 5 minutes ago - first stop? RMN! Of course.) and, well, that's that. I've returned. If anyone wants me to expand on anything, just ask. There's far too much to tell in one sitting.
TL;DR? I'm back after all kinds of crazy shit went down.

If you haven't wrote anything to the drive you may be able to get the data back, since 'erasing' something just means marking it as overwritable.
Guessing that isn't the case though.

Yeah... bit late for that. When I got it back someone had already reinstalled Windows 7. So, yeah. They wiped the drive then reinstalled Windows - nice and ready for them when they 'owned' it. Pity I managed to prove it was mine thanks to some good luck (and low-level detective work) or I'd have been down one computer.
Still, bastards.

Not too bad. I broke my left arm and got a bit banged up, but I've since had the cast removed and I've healed up well. ^.^
Nor too dramatic family problems, nor money issues, those can be really bad today? (I would not dare but you said : If any one wants me to expand on anything, just ask." )
Well, yeah. My Grandmother was very, very ill and collapsed. The money issues were mainly because of the moving/travelling issues really. We went up to Queensland for my cousin's wedding and got stuck up there for a week because of some flight problems and getting the wrong tickets. Then the tickets cost more than we thought they would and well, bills were piled up when we got home.
We were/are moving soon and just as we had everything ready the house we were going to move into fell through. So we got all unpacked and had to deal with getting the amenities back on, which cost more (it was literally the day we were to move that we got the call that it was a no-go. >:( )
The next time (a few weeks later) we were a bit smarter about the whole disconnection before moving thing, so we weren't as badly off when the second house fell through (they found asbestos in one of the walls X.x; ) but still...
So my internet connection was just a luxury, not a necessity and it got the cut so that bills could get paid.

So I pretty much figured you'd have had to disappeared the face of internet.
It's a pleasant surprise to see you back! Sometimes the IRL gets pretty busy and usually when it does (for the RMers at least?), it seems to do it quite notably so.

Thanks YM! It seems like things might settle a little, though I got some bad news today so maybe not. It's nothing for you guys to stress over, though and doesn't affect my being here, so, kinda yay I guess.

...but I am really curious as to how someone claimed your computer and how you got it back...
Ah, that's the BIG story, RM-wise. A few of you already know this (ya'll know who ye be ;P ).
Anyway, it began when I first 'disappeared'. My video card decided to kill itself, so I sent my computer to a friend of the family who worked in the computer fixing biz. We'd known him for years and he'd sort of been adopted into the family - seeing as his own wanted nothing to do with him.
Anyway, a few days after I'd given him the computer (but before I'd paid for the fixing) he got sick and called to let me know that he wouldn't be able to have it done by the end of the week and could I wait until next week. That was fine by me, as I didn't get paid until then.
So next week came around and we hadn't heard from him except to say that he was still pretty sick. A few days later we found out he'd died. Apparently it was of heart failure - he'd had a weak heart.
His family came down and arranged the funeral and afterwards they laid claim on his possessions.
Unfortunately, because he'd been so sick he hadn't really written much in the way of documentation about what belonged to who, so they also laid claim to a few computers that belonged to other people.
Basically we all had to prove that they were ours and I had to chase down a guy from Brisbane who I'd bought mine off a few months earlier to prove it was mine. By the time I got it back they'd already wiped it clean and set it up for their own.
That said, they took out the new video card and put my dead one back in once they knew it was coming back to me. Bastards. Thankfully I managed to get my hands on a new one to go with my new screen. (The old one kinda caught on fire. ^.^; )

Well, the replacement monitor caught fire. Since I sorta broke my other one. While I was waiting on my computer to be fixed I was cleaning out my desk and kinda tripped over a cord. This led to my LCD screen falling backwards off the desk edge and breaking to pieces. So I figured I'd get another screen ready for when (I thought) my computer would be back.
An old one. Say, circa 1998? Yeah. So I had it plugged in to see if it still worked (just to test the power) and got called out of the room for a second. When I came back there was lots of smoke coming out from the monitor, and, well, Old Reliable, wasn't.
I've had the worst luck lately. ^.^;

Yeah. Everything just seemed to pile up all at once. It was really crazy for a while there, especially being stuck in Queensland with no way home. Sure the weather was great, but there was a lot of stress piling up and, well, knowing about my computer issues and the packing we'd have to do when we got home, combined with an ultra-itchy arm - let's just say it wasn't as enjoyable a holiday as it should have been.
At least I'm back now and the moving plans have been pushed back some.

Glad to see you're back, Liberty! You certainly have had it rough, but you pulled through! Here's hoping all things go well from here :)
