You don't use game maker for a replacement of RPG maker! I'll show you a site where you can get RPG makers(VX and XP cost money, and don't work on windows 7, by the way, and 95 doesn't work so well), O.K.? My dad couldn't find that out, and sure when my dad was using RPG maker, he didn't use switches or variables, but the point is that if your new to a program and can't find ANY help, and can't do it yourself, use a better program. Here: 2DRPG This is the best site you could use for this.
For the avatar, you upload the picture to your locker, copy the address of the link and paste it in your profile in the right place. For the rest type "tutorial etc." in google search, also check Dungeons in "Game design and Theory" in the very first category of topics in the forums.

I'm not going to debate the issue about actually paying money for an RPG Maker.
Anyway, back on topic, checking the various tutorials here for whatever engine you think you want to use is probably a good start as any.
well, i dont have money cause no job so i cant really buy any of the programs that you are talking about i think.
Yeah, not having money does, in fact, suck. However, there does seem like there's something... missing in this thread. Something that has been done when a new person shows up. I wonder, what could it be!?

How you get a hold of a maker is something you will have to figure out on your own. As to figuring out how it runs, there are countless decent workable tutorials that don't even require you to sign up onto the website you can get for free. There's no reason you have to pay anything for the tutorials at all. Here's another website that has some really good tutorials, you just have to find the ones you need, and that won't cost you anything but time: http://www.hbgames.org/forums/viewforum.php?f=48 also not for interest, XP costs less than VX, but find the right one for you.
One more thing that I think would be of good advise for someone who is brand new to RPG making. The maker program that you decide to get will come with a specific template. That template is alterable with the help of scripts. As a beginner you probably don't even understand what a script is. My advise is don't worry about learning about that yet. As a bare beginner, I would learn how to use the template and all of it's rules before you even consider altering it.
Here's a link where you can have rm2k3 in english and the rest in french, check at each download if it's written (en français) or (en anglais) : http://www.rpg-maker.fr/
This is a pretty handy site: http://crankeye.com/?page=downloads personally I'm a fan of RPGMaker 2000
