MMORPGs & RPGs with Weapon Customization Topic

I've lately been playing Diablo 2 and I was wondering if any of you know of a game that has a lot of options for weapons and allows you to customize to your hearts content, Diablo 2 only does this but by only a bit, I can't make my sword inflict status effects only elemental damage. I was hoping you guys could recommend me MMORPGs/RPGs that have this, preferably in a MMORPG I'd like it to have PvP.

Final Fantasy X is huge on weapon customization once you get to the advanced stages. Ragnarok Online has the card system that upgrades weapons, but they cost a ton of money from player vendors and take forever to find. I know WoW has some customization, but it takes a while.

Wasn't Borderlands all about the weapon customization? Also the new Rage is apparently all about make-shift weaponry.

Though I've played neither so I don't actually know.

I know Borderlands has some; a friend played it. Haven't tried it myself.

Dark Cloud was big on weapon customization. You find augments to attach to your weapons, and once it levels up it cam absorb those attachments permanently.

The spiritual successor, Rogue Galaxy, is similar. You can get very powerful very fast, much like in FF8. Great stuff!
