GUESS THAT GAME!

Posts

Probably right, I thought that too, especially with the warp zones since you could loop back to levels (if memory serves), but I went another way with it. Oh well.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Okay. Hope no-one minds me grabbing the turn. :P If so, disregard.

A spoony fellow ends up in a loop, all to aid a princess.

Bard's Tale?

How about Zelda, loop in time ? it's really a guess, I don't know much about Zelda, and nothing about any of the others..)
Nope to all! ^.^

It is a rather obscure game and I am being obscure with my clue, so DOUBLE OBSCURITY!

I'm not sure it would qualify as obscure, but... Braid?

Man I'm trying to think of games with bards that rescue princesses and there aren't any. The Legend of Zelda series is as close as you get. Are you sure it's not a Zelda game? Majora's Mask, maybe? Or Oracle of Seasons/Ages? Those ones have loops.

Or perhaps by "spoony" you mean "related to silverware" in which case, uh, Beauty and the Beast? Beast had some spoons that talked, I'm pretty sure. And I guarantee you there was a crappy NES or SNES game based on the Disney version. Belle wasn't a princess though, just nobility.

(You could also be using "spoony" as the literal meaning of "romantic and sentimental," but that seems unlikely since any sane person would just say "romantic and sentimental" instead of "spoony.")
XD
None of those.
I'm using 'spoony' to refer to a bard-like character. :P
I did say it was obscure. Another hint, perhaps?

HINT #1: A spoony fellow ends up in a loop, all to aid a princess.
HINT #2: The game is on a Sony console.

The power of Google tells me it could be Ephemeral Fantasia.
Cheater, cheater! ^.~
Yes, it was Ephemeral Fantasia. You play a minstrel called Mouse who has a magical talking guitar. He gets stuck in a time loop trying to save a princess from her marriage to some jerk. Whilst it sounds interesting the game is really rather ho-hum and not that great. Still, it's quite obscure. :P
Enjoy your turn, DE~

A pharaoh kills Osiris with a boomerang. One-hit KO galore!

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe

(I know Osiris and Captain Boomerang aren't actually characters in that game but they should be shut up)

I almost beat that game. There were some fun segments. The game felt like Chrono Trigger meets Majora's Mask.

It's an actual pharaoh kicking THE Osiris's butt with an actual boomerang. Oh, and Osiris turns into a pterodactyl that poops eggs that kill you or turn into frogs with human heads. The game is an action platformer. I have no idea how popular it was, but I used to play it all the time when I was a kid. I never beat it back then :D
