I'm pretty sure Tony is killed in Grand Theft Auto 3. GTAIV had a redesigned Liberty City. It's very possible they redesigned Vinewood to be a bigger city and focus entirely on the city alone. It remains to be seen!
No, Tony didn't die in GTA III, it's assumed he takes control of the Leone family.
Just from one of the scenes in this, I'm gonna assume this is late 80s. So it could have Vercetti in it.
It can't be late 80s; look at the cars and the clothes, and some of the games in-universe websites have been leaked already.
Yep my bad. Maybe Vercetti faked his death to live a normal life.
Man why does everyone think it's Vercetti? Where's everyone getting this from? And faking his death? He never died or almost died in the first place, if anything, Tommy Vercetti is one of the most successful GTA protagonists in the series history. Vice City ended with him owning it all.
Its the voice to be honest. I thought in Vice City its stated he's dead.... and there's a gravesite in the desert, but I just looked it up on wikipedia. Nope not dead.

Vice City happens before San Andreas and if I know my mob movie liniage. They all own it all, but then it all goes horribly wrong.

Makes me think about the Vice City movie that was bandied around and how Ray Liota would star himself... they better get to it quick, he's grey now.
Remember the mission in San Andreas where you meet Ken Rosenberg, and he's trying to call back home in Vice City but Tommy doesn't want to talk to him? Yep, he's alive.

What is the SOURCE of the rumors that Tommy Vercetti is the protagonist of this game?
That's what I want to know as well.
Nope I don't remember that... but I am playing it again for the past 2 or 3 weeks.

I think the source is the voice. It is similar to Ray Liyota's or however its spelled. But chances are its a totally new protagonist who isn't voiced by someone famous.

That sounds nothing like Ray Liotta, you fool. : P
... I'm glad I'm not the only tool in the box...

PC Gamer sez >> "You’ve probably noticed the narrator sounds a lot like Ray Liotta, who voiced GTA Vice City’s player character Tommy Vercetti. "

Is this Tom Francis guy on crack? Or does he just not watch movies?

That guy sounds nothing like Ray Liotta.

If it actually IS Ray Liotta, then I will eat my proverbial shoe.

Heck, I don't even believe that there are multiple protagonists...I think only the speaker (if anyone) is the PC. That theory's nothing but a bunch of epileptic trees.

Maybe Tommy Vercetti makes an appearance... but maybe its not Ray Liota's voice. I'm not sure about multiple protagonists... but maybe leaders of rival gangs.

Anyway, so many people have thought its Ray or Tommy that Rockstar has said its not Ray. But hey maybe people think all mobsters sound the same...
I've always liked GTA for some of their missions, I especially liked the one in San Andreas, now I can't remember the specifics but I remember being on the back of a motorbike and shooting at the people(I think they were russian mafia) chasing you, while your partner drives through alleyways and back roads.

I didn't want to point this out because I thought it obvious...
It's NOT anyone from the GTA3 series (read: GTA, VC, SA, CTW, LCS, VCS)
GTA4 was unrelated to the GTA3 universe, it was its own thing. I bet you $5 that GTA5 will also be it's own thing.
I couldn't get into GTA4. Driving wasn't as fun as it was in the PS2-era games.
I own GTA4 and all of its expansions... but I haven't played them. I have so much games to catch up on. Now with this GTAV trailer people have been talking about how GTASA was better than GTA4.

I disagree; they're both awesome games in their own right, but I think I prefer IV by a hair.
