FINAL FANTASY XIII-2.....
Posts
I agree. Noel seems to be a MUCH better husband. (Considering how Snow dissapears for, like, a year and even when they see each other again he leaves again. Talk about being a complete jerk much.)
As for Hope....i just want him to die. Why, oh why, is he in the sequel?

By the way, new 13-2 screenshots came in~ They are exhibiting Chocobos, duh. It also shows our first look at the item screen. (And the refined Paradigm system.
Check them out:
New pictures, yippe!

So, they are keeping almost the same combat system as in FF13? The one that leaves you with very little control and is more like an eye-candy, than pleasing gameplay-wise? Goddamnit, I was hoping for a new FF I could enjoy. It also looks like they are re-using many models (not necessarily a bad thing, but still...)
Sure, some other things are great (breaking the linearity, getting rid of Snow, etc), but if the combat system is based on the first one, I probably won't bother getting this game :/ And from the screenshots it's visible that the stats are still boring, just Strength and Magic again....
And Versus doesn't get my hopes high either, I love how the main character looks, and how darker the game looks, but that's about it, the gameplay videos didn't catch my attention at the very least.....
I guess the modern Final Fantasy games are just not my cup of tea (though I did enjoy and finish the first one quite a bit for example).

@SmileWithStyle
Actually, they complicated the battle system further, to the point where you may be able to swap party members in battle. Let's not forget they added monster training now, and the paradigm system can now "fine tune" specific roles in a paradigm. Also, you only die if all human characters die in-battle, not just the party leader. (God bless square for that.)
As for Versus, i have no idea what that is, so i can't really say much about it.
@Fallen-Griever don't forget how the fanboys/girls massacred Clouds image with their silly fanfics.

Lighting is even more dumb than cloud or squall. Where are the real name of the past??? Cecil, bartz, Zidane (yitan for PAL)???
I liked FFXIII, so I'll probably get this. The other true sequel they did, FFX-2, was pretty amazing.
Dont forget Storm .-.
This game might be fun. I appreciate that Square acknowledged the input from the original title and seeks to improve it for the sequel. I will give this game a look.
I checked it out in the wiki a bit more, and they are adding some things, might be worth a look after all, but... quick time events? I hate those...
Well, if they at least fix the camera during combat to actually SHOW what is happening, or what damage I'm dealing, it will be better.... but the Paradigm Shift combat style is still a "strange" combat style to say the least. I would prefer some kind of mix between active and turn-based, where I can just tell each character what to use at the exact time I need it, instead of shifting everyones paradigms each time I need to heal or buff (the short pause when shifting also kinda messed the flow of combat).
Adding monsters looks interesting at least, but their special attacks will also be quick-time events if I read right... what is it with game developers and quick-time events these days :/
Also, is it true that there are RANDOM encounters again, popping up in the field? Removing random encounters was one of the things FF13 I thought did right, and they put them back? O.o
(gah, my mind is like on a roller-coaster, one moment I totally don't give a damn about a game, and later I am starting to get interested).
EDIT: Basically...
Comments from the Famitsu reviews:
Not linear this time
A lot of mini games and sidequests
Recruitable monsters, a very fun feature
Battles are highly strategic
They improved all the features which had some complaints from the fans
Several endings, want to play many times
Awesome story
Story changes a little depending on users' choice
On paper, sounds great, let's see what the real thing is like (famitsu tends to hype all the FF games, and their reviews aren't really "reliable" that much, 40/40 score for FF 13-2 as well as Skyrim and Nintendogs, 39 to MW3, so take what you will from it :D )

I haven't played a FF since 8. That game really ruined me on the series. I see FF XIII-2 as a way to make more money without putting as much $$$ into the production.
Now if Dragon Quest 8 had a sequil DQ VIII-2 I'd gladly pay $100 for a sequil.

Those pictures show Serah and Noel. Serah okay, Noel who? I thought this was the main cast of FFXIII only in the past?
Edit: Also nice moogles, weird wookie chocobos.
Edit: Enter the Soul Calibur!

Actually I loved FFXIII. Mainly the battle system which I felt like I had plenty of control over(just know what the AI does and act accordingly). Really, it's a good story in all but you have to be obsessed with the game to get everything that's happening. Especially the mythology. Oh, and Vanille isn't in 13-2...
@ Dudesoft Yeah, the moogles' bobbleheads are awesome. Serah's moogle turns into an archers bow apparently.

This is sort of a silly mindset. Not only have their been pretty good entries into the series since 8, even if there wasn't, it is also kinda dumb to judge an entire franchise based on an entry ten years ago. While the new FF might just in fact be an easy paycheck, at the same time they're genuinely changing up some of the stuff the fans voiced about.
I don't like a lot of stuff SE has done lately. But the knee jerk hate is getting pretty retarded.

Thats sad, you missed 9, one of the best of the series :c
New trailer just came out. (Its narrated, kind of annoying. Honestly, its like they think we've never heard of information before.)
See it here~

Two days before we get spoilers~

As long as it isn't Final Fantasy X-2. It seems it was only made for girls or something.
I quit when having to go up that tower in the beginning, with time limits. Really?

I haven't played a final fantasy since Mystic Quest. Will this be like Mystic Quest?
I'm sure you guys all heard this already but it's still... so weird.
