Eight years after the events of The Dark Knight, the terrorist leader Bane arrives in Gotham City, pushing it and its police force to their limits, forcing its former hero Batman to resurface after taking the fall for Harvey Dent's crimes.

So what do you guys think, will it be a good movie, what's up with the football scene, how hot is Anne Hathaway, etc.
What is it with the new Batman movies and "terrorists"?
They used to just be plain out "criminals" and "villains". But nope. Joker is Al Qaeda. Bane is Hezbollah.

Eh, I think it'll be worth watching but I don't think it'll top the Batman before this one by any stretch of the imagination. I mean, it's pretty hard to top Heath Ledger's brilliant performance. Despite Christian Bale being in a lot of movies I like, he's still a pretty terrible actor and is always extremely stiff. Also, Bane is kind of a sucky villain. I heard a rumor awhile back that the villain was going to be The Riddler played by Johnny Depp, which would've been pretty cool, but sadly it's Bane.
*goes back to watching Batman from early 90s and Batman Beyond which was actually really cool*

I always lol'ed at his cancer ridden voice when he plays Batman.
Not my best guess, Batman might retire or something. Raul could of survived the train in first movie.
He is said to make a cameo, but maybe that's just a past scene.
I watched the first leaked opening of The Dark Knight Rises. Fucking awesome.

I have to say Im excited for this movie, Nolan brings something to the series that had been lost since Burton's versions. Batman needs to take a cough drop, Bane needs to learn English but all in all this will be a great movie.
(P.S. If you like the movie and want to talk about it and your own theories, etc. just PM me.)

That's pretty awesome it takes place 8 years later. Maybe Bruce Wayne works on his gadgets and crime solving intelligence by then. Aside the Sonar in that last film, they just don't show Wayne's intelligence very much to any large extent.
I'm curious how they will play selena. Will she be tied to mafia or what?

I don't want to spoil anything but that movie seems to really be based around the Knightfall saga of the comics, if you're interested just go look it up. It's one of the best part of the batman saga.

i don't think it will be based on that. This is entirely Nolan's original idea. Knightfall has nothing to do with Catwoman.
You can already tell the stories of the first two films are original and not basing on any saga of the comics, so this story will be original as well.
I'm super excited for this. Both of Nolans Batman films have been absolute killers to watch, and I can't wait to see this one too, man. Like, I'm excited for reals. They filmed part of this in Pittsburgh, my hometown, and it was crazy to see pictures of the Batmobile and scenes and takes etc that my friends snapped downtown.
wtf are you talking about
Bane beating the shit out of Batman immediately reminded me and legions of other fans of Knightfall. Bane is about the only major villian to ever 'break the Bat.'
EDIT: Yep.

'The film's storyline takes influence from the story arcs in the Batman comics The Dark Knight Returns, Knightfall and No Man’s Land.'.

What.
Nothing in the trailer implies terrorism. It all implies some massive villainry though. Is that a bunch of prisoners from Arkham with guns in that one bit?
It looks insanely epic though. Which I don't know if it'll work great. Though after the... slightly mad and "smaller scale" story of the Joker. It seems we'll get some all-out war or something now.
And I hope the bat man will die!
Bane is a terrorist, but so was the Joker and so was Ra's, if anyone has a problem with the identification of the villains in Nolan's series as terrorists you can go watch Batman and Robin or Batman Forever. This series is the most realistic of the three as such the id of villains as terrorists is fitting. They are villains to Batman but they are terrorists to Gotham at large.
Not really a fan of Bane and I don't care for Anne Hathaway either. That being said, this movie looks like it will be decent. I own the first Batman movie in the series but still haven't watched it all the way through, I thought it was too boring. The Dark Knight was great though. The Joker was absolutely brilliant and so was Two Face. I liked the Batman cartoons from when I was a kid but never really followed the series, I was always more of a Marvel fan.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Some Batman villains, like Penguin and Catwoman, are just criminals. They do the things they do out of greed or hatred or revenge.
Other Batman villains, like Joker and Scarecrow, are deranged lunatics whose goals are quite simply to cause terror. They obviously have very different motivations for their actions than political insurgents or religious radicals, but that's irrelevant to whether or not terrorist is the right word. I'm pretty sure if your goal is to cause terror, that makes you a terrorist by definition.
I would go so far as to say that if I had to pick any one person real or fictional as the best example of a terrorist, it would be Scarecrow. The dude is a theme villain whose theme is terror.

Catwoman is less of a villain and more of an antihero and occasionally mutual bangbuddies with Batman.

I agree. Uh I cannot really explain why but a lot of 'epic' good movies tend to just go right through me, no matter how well written or acted they are. I guess it's the same with the Lord of the Rings or anything with a huge "scope."
No Heath Ledger acting. I hope this movie lives up, but the first movie wasn't special, and the second would have been garbage without Heath's legendary performance.
