THE HOBBIT

Sweet Jesus! Forget The Dark Knight. Batman's got nothing on this.

Are my initial impressions.

Then I realize: "Fuck this is a 3d movie"

But damn it's going to be good anyway. I've been watching that trailer on repeat a couple of times. It's really effective. And really good. Just when I thought movie trailers have been really bad in the last couple of years something like this comes in.

Looks great! I'm a fan of the first three movies, and hated the books. However, I loved the Hobbit book, so I'll probably hate these two movies. Still, I can't wait to go DAWWWWWWWWWW D: when this movie says "To be continued".
:o

The trailer was split into 2 parts!
I know what I'm going to see next year in December.

SOOO, they pulled a Geroge Lucas here right? I'm pretty sure The Hobbit happens before the whole LOTR thing

I saw the first (or "before") part and loved it, it looks(?) like this one is going to be just as good!

Ugh, I hope it is in 2D at theaters too. But at the very least it will come out on DVD in 2D.

I really can't wait for these movies.
Loved the books. Peter Jackson did them justice, I think. Really looking forward to seeing the Hobbit.
I'm not the biggest fan of 3D films, but I'm excited to see this because A) I'm a die hard Tolkien fan, B) Peter Jackson goes all out on films, and C) I hear a lot through the grapevine that due to technology increasing, move quality will reach it's climax and will not get any better afterwards. They are using a whole new camera to film this, I guess. The Hobbit is supposed to be the first filmed with the new stuff.
I'm really looking forward to this; I grew up with the Rankin Bass version of The Hobbit, but I loved the Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings films and I suspect he will do an equally fine job with these movies.
Should be fun.

...on a sort of related note. I was re-watching the LOTR films recently and I'm wondering, am I the only one who liked the theatrical cuts better then the extended editions?
