2020 update: The Adventures of Crackhead Jack: Overdose Edition is the latest and greatest version of the game, updated + much more for Steam. Get it here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1328500/
The Adventures of Crackhead Jack: Classic tells the story of Crackhead Jack, whose roommate needs crack and wants Jack to get it. In doing so, he goes on an epic quest to acquire it, meeting friends, enemies, and buying weapons to slaughter the innocent. Jack and his cronies travel to vast islands, hideouts, villages, and more, for the sake of fulfilling a simple fetch quest. The game is about 1-2 hours in length, depending on how you play it.
Disclaimer
As you can tell from the title itself, the game contains some profanity and suggestive themes.
Characters
Jack is the main character. His roommate tells him to get some crack, so he does. He has a somewhat cynical outlook on life, and is a very straightforward hardworking middle-class man.
Himoff is a cultist, part of the Inner Circle. Himoff joins the epic journey when Jack asks him to get inside of his cult tower.
Loogie was the leader of the Inner Circle until meeting Jack n' Himoff. After envisioning Satan, Loogie decides to tag along with the rest of the gang. And no, it's not what you think it is on his head.
Extra stuff
The game has been nominated for a plethora of awards, including the Nobel Peace Prize, the Pulitzer Prize, an Oscar for Best Picture, and a Grammy Award for Album of the Year. The game has also been featured in a few Let's Plays on YouTube after its initial release on my GameJolt page. After the first version's release on May 14, 2016, I've been updating it from time to time, fixing bugs and adding new features and quests. The hopefully "final" updated version was finished on August 11, 2017. Having never been a fan of JRPGs, I decided to parody a few tropes of JRPGs and western RPGs, along with a somewhat amusing and incoherent plot for the sake of comedy.
How it's made
The game features almost entirely original graphics for sprites and tilesets, with almost none of the RTP used (except for small item and skill icons and such). The soundtrack comprises of 8-bit metal covers, SNES-era OSTs, and the occasional unexpected final boss battle themes you'd expect from an RPG. All of these elements that weren't original have been credited in the credits. And so, the game works without the RTP. It also features GameJolt trophy support.
