Miss me with those phone calls

As far as I am a university student, and I learn pedagogy and educational psychology I know a lot of things about the development of a child. There are a few developmental psychology theories, for example the theory of Sigmund Freud (who divides the stages of development in the terms of sexuality) and Piaget (who does the same thing in the terms of the operation).

This game, as I noticed, is following the theory of Piaget: "You have to make choices in life", your behavior and actions are defining your personality and the development of your individual. Playing with a young boy (approximately 3 years old) and a young girl (older than his brother) we are the spectators of their development. Also we can find out the story behind them in their dreams and hallucinations which are present subcontiousely.

It's a positive aspect that we have a lot of variations in the way we can play the game, for example you can play all the nights with Bobby, or all the nights with Suzie, or even combinations (Bobby-Suzie-Bobby, Suzie-Bobby-Suzie, Suzie-Suzie-Bobby, etc.), and of course with every variation the game is different. You have different options, different endings and different experiences with every playthrough.

The story of the game is well built, but to put the pieces together it's not enough to play it through only once. I don't want to spoiler anything about it, but it was a surprise how a small and short game like this can contain such a great story.

The only thing which was bothering in it is that you really have to concentrate on a lot of things at the same time to survive: checking the sanity, searching pills, avoiding hallucinations, searching for clues, doing the objectives and putting the pieces of the story together. And if you die, you have to start the whole thing over. It is too hard for the first time, interesting for the second and boring for the rest of the replays.

The atmosphere is really great: it is dark, mysterious and well built for a horror game. The soundtrack is really good too, it really improves the gameplay and the horror ambience of it,

so in conclusion, I confirm that the game "The Abandoned Ones" is a really good horror game and experience for everyone who likes this genre.

Wow!
I'm so satisfied that you observed the psychical background of the game.
I learned a lot through Piagets experiments on kids acting in different situations, and it was quite inspirating me in the creation of the 2 protagonist of the game.
Thank you very much for your review!
