Progress Report

First Boss Development

Hi,

I am finishing the development of the first boss of the game. It isn't being as easy as I thought it would be because I want The Forgotten Castle to be a challenging game but I dion't wat the first boss to be very hard.

It will have 3 different pattern attacks and when you defeat it you will unlock an ability very important for the progress of the game.

Right now I jus have to polish a few details of the fight and design a life bar for the boss.

Working on the UI

Hi,

Lately I have been working on the UI of the game and I am starting to be happy with the result.

Right now I am working a lot on game design so I don't have many new screenshots to show but you will see new content really soon. The demo is a little bit nearer every day!

Hi,

Finally I can say I have finished all the basic mechanics of the game so now I can focus on the level design and the bosses. The last weeks I have been doing the following things:

Polish game mechanins
Death mechanic
Intro for the game
Full character rework
UI rework(work in progress)
Solving bugs

I think that I will have a demo ready with the first minutes of the game soon!

This week I have been searching for nice sound effects and music for the game. I am trying to create the greatest atmosphere that I can.

I have also startet to design and implement the first levels of the game.

This week I have been mainly cleaning and optimizing code.

I have also been able to implement a early version of the pause menu. It will include the powers the player unlocks and story quotes to keep the player engaged to the story.

This week I could implement some basic things:

-A new enemy, the slime. A simple enemy that folloWs the player.
-Moving platforms.
-Falling in holes (enemies fall too).
-Transition between rooms.
-Enemies respawn
