His Dreams
Dreams come and go like people walking along the boulevard.
You register them, perceive them, and after a few more steps you've already left them behind.
That is also the case with Mark. But they don't always want to pass. Places he has never seen are presented to him. Skyscrapers that can't be compared to anything he knows from his idyllic port city. A dark, deep and threatening cloud covering the sky. Disguised people with voices that sound familiar to Mark.
They speak of his awakening, of destruction and rebirth.
It all begins with a chance encounter and the reawakening of Arcane.

1260 Years Before
Discovered on the planet Alosia, the arcane brought a revolution in technology, medicine and, of course, warfare.
According to tradition, the new art was discovered by Aurelius Tendrex Lavores. Imperial regent of the Trevian continent, the Askian Mountains, the Desert of Beleros, as well as the imperial province of Araya and the eponymous capital of the empire.
Arcane describes the art of the user's effect of elementally focused power. Not every living being on Alosia was capable of using arcane. If they were, they were called gifted and could use arcane with the help of the power of the elements focused in vessels.
The vessels - the gerphydium - were initially made by blacksmiths and carpenters in a rather amateurish way. Later, production was automated in factories using Arcane.
The development of the country proceeded in rapid steps. Through arcane, streets were lit, living spaces were heated, and transportation routes were revolutionized.
Light railroads could transport well over a hundred people and goods over long distances. The traditional means of transportation - horses - became largely obsolete. Only in poor regions was the old-fashioned way still preferred.
In addition to these developments, special techniques were also explored. Thus, Emperor Lavores succeeded in conquering the last independent states that had united against Lavores to form the FDU - Free Democratic Union.
A few years after the fragile peace, rebel groups revolted against Lavores and the regime. These underground organizations had formed throughout the empire under the leadership of surviving FDU commandos. In addition to former FDU members, there were also traitors in the ranks of the empire. There were also civilian supporters who had joined the rebels. Although the regime's intelligence service - the Imperial Security Guard - had already tracked down these rebels, an unexpected counterattack occurred.
An arcane fire ignited the planet Alosia, and the death toll on both sides ran into the hundreds of thousands.
After the successful overthrow of the Emperor, the independent states regrouped. Because of the arcane fire that burned for weeks after the war and the numerous casualties on both sides, it was decided that such a war could never be repeated. Together, the states decided to ban the Arcanum. They destroyed not only Gerphydium's factories, but also all records of the art. Rebellious gifted were henceforth called cursed and executed for disobedience.
The end of the Lavorian era and Arkan ushered in a new age. The new beginning is also known as the Year 0 after the Purification.
