Manual


The goal of the game is to explore the mines to find as much treasure and ore as possible. Press Z to use your pickax.


You'll also find bombs on your way, which can be used to blow up a portion of the caves. Press SHIFT to use bombs. If you misplace a bomb, you can press SHIFT before it explodes to pick it back up.


At the top left is your map, which shows the location of you, the shop, and the goal. At the top right is your health meter, your oxygen meter, and the hazard light. The hazard light shows how close you are to a cave-in. If it turns yellow or red, consider leaving the current floor as soon as possible. At the lower left is the ore you've just mined and its count, and at the lower right are the number of bombs you have remaining.


Once you're satisfied with your current haul, or are in danger, you'll now need to head for the exit. Once you're there, you'll be asked if you want to climb down. Choose "Yes" and the game will tally up the number of ores you have and how much they're worth, then you're sent onto the next floor.


There's three floors in total, with the final floor being the boss floor. If you can defeat the boss, you'll be able to keep everything you've gathered during the run.


Along the way you'll find shops. You can either buy stuff here or trade petroleum for rewards. The more petroleum you trade, the more rewards you can get from the shopkeep.


You may also find large treasure chests, each one containing a treasure.


During combat, you are presented with three options: Melee, Star or Run. Melee will attack your foe using a melee attack, while Star will use allow you to use Star Moves, each one needing a move to perform in order to successfully initiate the attack. Run will allow you to run away from an enemy in case things aren't working out.


When your turn is over, the enemy gets the chance to attack. This can be in the form of a regular attack or a special attack that requires your input. After their turn is over, you'll be brought back to the initial three options.

Your run ends immediately once you run out of health, run out of oxygen or get trapped in a cave-in.

Outside of the Mines


After each run you'll be prompted to save your progress. While you're not in the Mines, you'll be in your Room. You can purchase decorations and customise your room from the computer. The computer is also where you'll be selling the treasures you find in the mines.
