This is a modern urban rpg!

Hello players!
This time I'm trying a game so do not consider this a real review but just a "first impression" of this interesting game called STREETSAD! The development of this game, created by NNOIZZ, started in 2022, but the demo that's available at the moment contains a lot to do. So do not expect a rating nor a "final verdict", I'll eventually re-review this game once it will be COMPLETED!

STREETSAD is the story of Joe, whose class is "Regular Dude" that lives inside an apartment. Aaaand looks like he lost the key of the front door of the apartment complex where he lives, so he will have to find a way to exit the place and go shopping. Anyway life is an adventure, But after facing giant cockroaches and other creatures he will be able to exit the building, and the world will unfold in front of us (just like the first time we left Midgard to explore the rest of the world in FVII and... ok, but I digress). In the meantime the day of the Quenching, an international televised event is approaching... and something terrible is about to happen!

Oh well, Dwarf Fortress is a great game! And maybe this one will be a great game too!

But what's exactly STREETSAD? Well, an urban modern rpg: eran money working, make friends, complete quests, explore, look for loot and fight! Classic isn't it? Well... but there are some interesting aspects.

The game, being a modern rpg, provides lots of items from various types of food to medicines to replace the usual consumables and healing potions, also be ready to use some more mundane weapons like baseball bats and forks, not swords and spears of course! And there are still items of incredible power, like the legrandary tin foil hat that protects from mind control! Enemies are likewise modern menaces (for the most part!) like angry dogs and criminals... but do not underestimate them, a guy with a gun is very dangerous, and I probably didn't have to specify this!

What? Nonsense! I was able to defeat the pigeon with regular attacks just fine!

Since I mentioned enemies, let's talk about battles: this game includes both random encounters and fixed unique enemies that often act as roadblocks and are often pretty tough, but our heroes possess various skills (that include special attacks and the ability to steal from enemies) and items (like rocks that can be thrown, for example). Some of these skills require to pass a quicktime event in order to be performed.
Also pay attention to every action you do since saving is very limited and caution is advised!

Now, the graphics: here's where the game shines, because it uses all custom assets and the visuals are simple but colorful and really unique and I especially liked the facesets (with various expressions) and the enemy sprites, but also some locations are pretty well done. Do not forget to explore fully each map to find hidden loot, secrets or points of interest.
Oh and the music is also original and excellent in my opinion! I liked that a lot!

This little guy eats trash (I think he accepts everything you give him!) and can give some cool items in exchange, including equipment, consumables and cash!

The only issues are found are some minot bugs like people that do not talk or things such as

I am sure I'm not supposed to go there!

Interacting with opened containers briefly shows--- that they're chests!

In the market there is a room on the left that goes nowhere and does not end... also you con walk on the upper wall!

STREETSAD is a real urban rpg, and I remember few games like this (maybe Alvorada do Mal but that's in portoguese) and every single one of these titles is usually heavily related to some kind of supernatural events.
Anyway yeah, this is a demo, so it was obvious to find some parts that are not completed or refined. Overall this is a very interesting and stylish game with solo some minor issues, that starts with a linear initial part and later opens offering various activities (like gambling) and possibilities. All good, maybe a bit challenging due to the limited saving options (I really wish there was the possibility to save from the menu or save points here and there). I will explore it a little more, waiting for the final version! It's cool!
