Progress Report

It just works!

Tansi. Hey everyone. Back again with good news everybody.
- Online multiplayer tests went very well! The 2 Player Coop Arcade mode is in good form as such for the demo release. (Coming soon)
- VERSUS mode keeps track of your total battles now with an on title screen counter but VERSUS mode still has some work to get it to its final form.
- A new extra cutscene was made for the lulz.
- Some tweaks to game progression were put in. (Testing to see how it feels)
- Player missiles and bullets have all been given some attention to performance. (Faster, stronger)
- A new pilot and her jet have been added! E.S.S Ai and her FKF-32 can be unlocked after playing Versus mode!
- The Support Ally is a lot cooler looking when it appears. Added some particle effects, but these were deemed too shiny and detracted from what the player could see making it very dangerous to pickup for conservative players looking to pick engagements. So flares that are dropped from the Ally Support were added as a bonus to playing risky. The Flares work the same way as Smokeshow Flares and block enemy bullets and missiles and also do bonus damage to enemies (Smokeshow flares don’t do any damage)
- OCM ALERTS is a new feature that becomes available half way through each chapter of the story. These can occur on any Story Stage and make the stage more difficult, but are the best way to earn DOGTAGS which are used to get more PETS!

Features, features, features!

Tansi. So many new features went through the development process of idea to concept to pre-code and pre-art into a more finalized state bc… damn it turned out to be fun stuff!

What’s new?
- WEAPON POD system. Special power ups called PODS have a small chance to appear when enemies are destroyed. These are very powerful power ups that create a drone POD that appears next to your aircraft and attacks automatically. You will want to risk some damage to fly out of your way for these, oh yes!

- IRON EAGLE fight has been put through balance passes. Feels good. Real good. New mechanics added to the fight that will pump up the feel of a dogfight.

- various balance checks on player aircraft’s to make the handling better and the overall feel of each aircraft and the weapons more engaging.

- a new power up is being put through the paces to see if it will be implemented or not. It feels fun but maybe it’s too powerful? But powerful is good ya?

Progress Report

More play tests underway.

Since the last update many new bugs were found and squashed. Some that were gamebreaking and some that were just needing to be dealt with. Code cleaned up so certain things mesh together during gameplay better.

New enemy added!(running out of CH2 enemies since they keep migrating to CH1).
-FK5 TIGRE was added last update being slightly tweaked for Chapter 1 as it was originally designed for chapter 2 difficulty. The SMOKERSCHMIDTT is being introduced in chapter 1 as well.

A new WORLD HAZARD has been introduced to an area of the game that seemed lacking in content. This new WORLD HAZARD helps tie the stage progression together more visually since the previous stage has had some visual updates.

Some voice lines for GENERAL WRIGHT and FEATHERFALL were tweaked and redone to match the direction of the gameplay better.

An amount of work was done on CH2 too so that’s a thing. Until next time pew pew paper pilots.

Bug squashing and new shiny things added

ESCAPE-BOMBS working as intended. Yay!
- some new art added
- new effects added
- new voice lines added for IRON EAGLE
- minor tweaks to gameplay difficulty
- new BONUS BOSS counterattack (counterattacks do no damage but affect gameplay in different ways. This is a new design element to the game as a whole)

Progress Report

STEAM DEMO put on hold.

Was playing the game to grab new footage and discovered a bug that causes the SOLAR BURST ESCAPE-BOMB to trigger continuously. Cool to watch and super powerful but kinda negates the purpose of a “get out of trouble” type weapon. Working on a fix. We passed the STEAM CHECK for our DEMO. So we can upload whenever now.

Halloween update

Tansi. The Halloween update will be launching with the STEAM DEMO. Steam demo currently in review. Further instructions to follow. Good luck paper-pilots.
