LOVE'S REQUIEM
STORY
Micah, a Knight of Lavia, has just met the woman of his dreams! The catch? Her father won't allow just anyone to marry her! Why, he's concocted a couple of... difficult quests for any young man who wishes to marry his beloved daughter. With the aid of his loyal squire, Lea, and by the power of his sword arm, can Sir Micah marry the lovely Lady Elicea, or will he have to watch another take her hand in marriage?
CHARACTERS
Micah Clefthew
Micah is a Knight of Lavia, whose skills are well known among the other knights. Upon seeing the Countess Elicea, he falls hard and becomes convinced that he will be the one to claim her heart.
Generally a polite and generous fellow, his proclivity towards action rather than thought, and his booming voice lead others to believe that he is perhaps a tad on the slow side. Although he is rather ignorant of others, at times he can be surprisingly thoughtful.
Lea Grandmen
Lea joined the Knights of Kremlik when he was fifteen, but climbed the ranks quite fast. After a humiliating defeat at the hands of Micah, he shelved his pride and rank, and followed Micah home, determined to learn from the man by becoming his Squire. He follows Micah everywhere and knows him better than anyone. He doesn't get along well with the other Knights of Lavia and is harassed by them because of his name and face, both of which are quite feminine. He doesn't like Elicea at all, but is determined to aid Micah in his quest.
FEATURES/STUFF ^.^
- Improved DBS
I'm sure that everyone knows what this means. ^.^
- Semi-CMS
The DMS is integrated into the CMS. Whilst this isn't that exciting, it does offer a few extra options. And worry not, there's no wait. ^.^
- Harvest system
The harvest system is where you find fruits and plants that can be harvested, either to be sold or eaten. The harvested items even grow back after a while.
- Improved town system, a la Star Ocean 2
You can choose to enter a town together or apart. If you decide to go your own way, you can switch between Micah and Lea to see their own view of the town. NPCs will react differently to both characters and there will be certain quests that can only be done by one character or another.
- Optional Combat
That's right! You can choose whether you want to beat every monster you come across, or take the easy way out and not fight at all. Of course, you may miss special quests that require you to fight, but it is your choice. And yes, this means that you can beat the game with only a few fights.
- Non-Traditional Levelling
Your stats are not enhanced whilst levelling. Instead they are boosted by learning under different Disciplines. Every time you gain 100 Level Points you will gain new stats depending on which Discipline you are learning. For example, the Tangible Discipline raises one's Aptitude, Stamina and Agility, whilst the Ethereal Discipline raises your Vitality, Brawn and Guile. Learning Points are gained only by fighting monsters.
- In Depth World Background
If you take the time to talk to all the NPCs and read all the books you find, you will find a fully fleshed world. As I'm more a writer than an artist, I thought I'd tell other stories in the background of the main tale. You'll hear about heroes and villains, the true creation of the world the characters live in, the beliefs of the different cultures and the structure of the different governments. Some books may have to be found, others will open only after certain quests are complete, and some few will be nigh impossible to get to, but for the readers out there, there will be story enough!
- Minigames
Ah, yes, minigames. Well, I've already coded a few that are finished, from the drinking minigame, to Fortune Ladders, to a tournament fight. There are many more to come, so for all the minigame enthusiasts, have no fear. There should be enough to quench your thirst.
