It's been a while so I decided to do an update of the progress while I helped a friend with her game.
The progress recently has been focused in refining the Collective Action Experience System
and modifying the battle system so it's as easy to understand as possible.
One of the main changes of the battle system is the change of the commands from icons into words in a window. There were a few complaints that the icons were too small and somewhat hard to focus on for commands.
This is an image of the new battle system commands display window:
(It's fully animated and moves out of the way when moving, picking targets or other windows are displaying)
The other update of the battle system is the way experience is gained in battle. It's called "Collective Action Experience" because your actions during battle increase the experience you gain, though experience gained does not simply level you up or let's you know how it's helped you.
I wont go into too many details about it becaue it's meant for the player to feel out how the system works for him or herself, but I can say that different characters have different growth rates with experience and while levels dont exist your attributes such as HP, AP, Attack Power, etc will level up. Also experience gained at the end of battle is always determined by the challenge level of your enemy and how strong you are when you fight it. So even though you dont know which level you are, you will feel when you are too strong and have to move on due to experience values droppings.
This is an image of the battle result window showing the experience gained among other things.
And finally a video showing the fully working menu. Sorry for there not being any sound... We tried to make it with sound but it kept coming out with terrible quality. Also it's better to watch it in higher quality.
Once again thank you for reading and have a nice day.
