Hired Archers can only train under someone, or join the party to clear the mine.

Hired Blacksmiths can produce new equipment for the martial classes, or can join the party to clear the mine.

Hired Ninjas can train other mercenaries to increase their power, or can join the party to clear the mine.

Hired Mages can be used to either research new spells to increase Mage damage, or put in the party to clear the mine.
