Azrand Brisingr
(Age: 56)
The emperor of Ignacia. Over the course of his forty-three year reign, Azrand has successfully conquered nations, quelled rebellions, survived assassinations and saved his father's country from imminent implosion. Now that the country is stable, he is shaking it up himself by issuing reform after reform, an act that is leaving his former allies, now enemies, reeling.
Relle Brisingr
(Age: 54)
Relle is the emperor's wife - more aptly, the empress. She comes from a long line of traditionalist conservatives, and generally disagrees with the emperor on every level. Their relationship is one that has long been dead, though a part of her still hopes her love was reciprocated by the man she married. She hates Arian, but openly admits it is because of his mother, and not out of any particular contempt for the man himself.
Dakon Eldridge
(Age: 20)
Dakon is a young Falenese man of low-birth, but he has come far in his brief tenure at the Ignacian palace, having quickly become the emperor's most-trusted advisor. Eschewing politics, he is blunt and honest with his opinion on any matter. He advised Faria Adblebert's placement into the generals. Due to his taciturn manner and brutal honesty, he is not popular with the council.
Sharom Brisingr
(Age: 35)
Sharom is the first prince of Ignacia. Honorable and noble to a fault, he is the heir to the throne. Sharom is reserved when it comes to politics, and rarely speaks his mind - perhaps due to his position. Nonetheless, he cares about people and tries to do what is necessary to maintain order and peace within the country. His relationship with Arian is awkward at best, considering him a naive idealist. He is childhood friends with Radius.
Romana Brisingr
(Age: 24)
Romana is the only daughter of the emperor, and was born a few days after Arian from empress Relle. Extroverted from birth, she was active in all manners of sports before a horse-riding accident left her legs crippled. It was then that she truly started appreciating her half-brother Arian, who often doted on her during this transition. She has since found value in reading, and likes painting, even if she is not very good. Romana is also close friends with Nalah.
Ozvalt Saready
(Age: 53)
Ozvalt is the captain of the royal guard, the protectors of the capital. Characteristically blunt, he is industrious and hard-working, and he expects the same amount of effort from all of his subordinates - and his children. He is close with his daughter, Elesca, but Aladhi has proven difficult for him to communicate with, especially since his wife's death.
