--Tale of Ragnarok (Optional Read)--

Over one thousand years ago the world of Aluzeres was a stunning and vivid land, void of abhorrence and discrimination. Together, all the races of the world lived in perfect harmony, respecting each other’s philosophies and ways of life while the Demons securely locked deep beneath the surface by the Gates of Hel. For a time, all was well, however, on one fateful day this peace was shattered. During the Festival of Forciestus, an annual ceremony celebrating the High Gods Odin and Athena, something that would forever change the world occurred. Under cloak and shadow, an assassin slipped past the Imperial Guard and passed into the secret realm of Odin, felling Odin and taking him prisoner in his own world. Complete bewilderment came upon the Kingdom.

In the midst of all the chaos, a previously unknown and rather mysterious group, Ragnarok, revealed themselves to the world. Ragnarok, followers of the Demon Book - Vereno, captured five Gods and one hundred Humans using the Light Core within each of them to release the seal on the fabled Gates of Hel. The process, incredibly taboo and exceedingly brutal, was a procedure not many people understood. However, what was understood was the startling link to the legendary prophecy of the Oracle-“On a day of respect an unfeasible task shall be completed. The souls of hundreds shall be lost; a shroud of Darkness to be cast, beware. Not all is as it seems… Fear the Double Crescent.” The prophecy was being foretold.

On the day Ragnarok released the seal on the Gates of Hel Aluzeres was cast under a deep shadow of Darkness. For seven long years Demons ran rampant upon the world, each day of turmoil bringing forth a new and more powerful demon to the surface. All the while, Odin had disappeared along with Athena and the world was thrust further into chaos. For a while, it seemed as if all was lost, but then, from what seemed to be nothing came great hope in the form of seven Humans. These Humans, soon recognized as Sakari, entered the Demon Realm in an effort to protect Aluzeres. Sacrificing their own souls in their mythical battle against Loki they resealed the Gates, forever locking themselves, Darkness, and Ragnarok deep within the bowels of Hel.

Soon, the powerful magic allowing the Assassin to restrain Odin disappeared and a group of soldiers were able to breach Odin’s cell. However, what lay at the center of the room overwhelmed them all. Odin, King of the Gods and most powerful being of Aluzeres stood broken, surrounded by an intricate seal crafted from his own blood. Both Athena and the illusive being known only as the Assassin were gone. Peculiarly, even after this horrid occurrence, an odd but joyful peace befell the Kingdom and a new...somewhat darker era began. The Empire had been born.

--The Empire--

After the War of Ragnarok a singular governmental rule was established for much of the Human race. Known as the Empire, it took the place of the former governmental system that ruled the world - the Gods. This new system allowed each race to govern their own people via their own methods and morals except for the Humans, deemed far too dangerous for their own good. Many Humans fought for their freedom, but were eventually overtaken by the Gods after being promised better lives. However, a better life only came to those who have lived directly under the influence of the Empire. Those from the north, where the Empire’s control dissolves, continue to live in bleak and dangerous conditions that threaten their lives each day. This region, called Kanton, is most notoriously known because of the Sakari Ni, an establishment of people who wish to bring the Empire to its knees.
