Not Runescape, but possibly a better type of game.

This game comes off as a type of runescape game. I myself find it to be nothing like runescape, minus the sword names being taken from it, some enemy names, and a few other features, including a build-your-own house feature. Now this is my first review on a game so, i hope this suits the players of this game, by me saying, it's not horrid, but it's not the best ever.
Balance: 3.5/5 Reasoning behind this is because the menus were basic. The game in itself had quite a few interesting perks, like building your own home, but the reasoning behind building a house for yourself...I'm not sure myself, minus the beds having healing properties. The characters didn't really have abilities, minus the mage i used, and the main character, in which by the time i received them, I was already in my mid 40's in leveling, and it was useless to begin with. Also, the leveling in itself was a little too easy, as I jumped between areas, and was destroying most of the major bosses, one in which was supposed to be impossible to kill, in a matter of 4 turns. Puzzles were hard, and had me coming to the creator for a little help, but in itself, they were pretty easy. This game could've used a quest guide, so i knew which ones i had done already. Also, grammatical errors were common in this game.
Level Design: 4/5 Graphics appeared to be the basics of the program used. Not that that's necessarily bad, but I did notice some graphics like when you're on the boat traveling, the bottom of the boat was actually on the top of the boat by a pixel. Very few areas had it to where you could move into certain tiles which would seem humanly impossible, but, easily overlooked. Main areas such as the ice mountain were put together with some detail, while others were quite barren. For that though, the graphics were decent, and for a first/second game, it's very decently put together. Some areas didn't even have accessible doors. I would've loved walking less though >.>
Characters: 1.5/5 Most characters had a basic introduction, and were done with for the rest of the game. That slightly bothered me but, i ignored this. Alot of the characters actually had no dialogue whatsoever. The main character is the run of the mill, you're the hero type, and most other characters had a little depth but, all in all, weren't much to remember.
Story: 1/5. This is where we started to falter. The storyline has a main section, but a few sidestories. Because of no quest log however, I was figuring things out when I wasn't supposed to at the time i had. It kept me confused, and wondering what the people were talking about until i realized "oh crap, i'm in the wrong part of the game." Some events could've possibly saved me from running the wrong way, or, like i said before, a quest log. Also, most names of areas weren't recognized until actually LOOKING at certain items.
Music and Sound: 2.5/5. Since i've never used the game engine used, the music was fairly original to me. Sound effects as well. However nothing really wow'ed me, so i can't say i really cared for the music. Most of the time, i actually was listening to my own music.
Granted it was his 'second' game I believe (he told me or something), the game in itself is pretty decent. There's a few things that could use some tweaking, but, all in all, it isn't as bad as everyone thinks. Just because it says 'runescape' doesnt mean anything.
Final score: 2.5/5
