A desperate goddess attempts to change the outcome of her future by erasing a key moment in her life. Overestimating her own powers, this spell causes a dimensional "rip," shattering the walls separating individual realities and the world of the living from the world of the dead...forming a place far worse than one she could ever imagine...

Among those affected is former college student Buffy Summers. A fierce warrior and protector in her original world, she has lost all memory of who she is and what her life was like before the incident. Teaming up with Dean Winchester, Buffy is determined to escape this nightmarish world and return home...however, a dangerous force from hell has escaped due to this incident, and he will do everything in his power to stop them and claim this growing world as his personal playground.

Features:
- A cast of twelve playable characters, that can be swapped in and out of battle at will
- A "sandbox" gameplay -- in which you choose the order (or how much) of the story you wish to see, as well as who to recruit
- Semi-customize your characters by designating them to the weapon (or weapons) of your choice. Some characters can have up to 30-40 skills bare minimum, while others can have close to a hundred
- A fast-paced dark yet comedic storyline
- Multiple endings

I think I'm just about done

Going to test play the ending one more time when I get home from work, but other than that, the game is pretty much completed. Look forward to a release tomorrow at the latest! =)

Special thanks to the testers, particularly amziezelt. You picked up on things that totally went over my head.

I'm so you enjoy this so much. NOW REVIEW IT AND SPREAD THE WORD!!!!

Jk. I'm actually surprised at the response I'm getting for this game. I didn't think that anyone would "get it".
as much as i love this game, there is one thing that is wrong, I was in a battle with a meisa, and it used clap clap, buffy and dean were paralysed, then heather got killed, then only buffy and dean were left, i waited three turns for the paralysis to wear off but it went on for about 12 turns and then buffy and dean died, so thats a bug or something i think, im not too sure if it is the same for othere status effects though
Just looked into it. Yeah, the percentage of paralysis going away after 3 turns was really low, so I just increased it to "75".
I want to recruit Hercules & Xena together not one of them, they're both my favorite legendary heroes
Having Hercules and Xena together would be too much ~ownage~ for one to handle
I end this demo with:
Buffy
Dean
Xena
Rham Jas

I chose Xena over Hercules (wish can recruit both of them) cause she learns 1 healing spell and she has 'Link' which she can cast 3 spells simultaneously. BTW, she has A LOT of spells more than Heather!
I chose Rham Jas cause he's the only one with group healing spell (so far), other characters have no healing spell.
Awaiting the other characters in the full version and see if i finish the game with my existing party or new party...
That's a well balanced team. If you use your team properly, you can beat the game with pretty much any party.

Re: Heather and Xena,

Heather learns upgrades while Xena doesn't. However, Xena makes up for it by learning a wide variety of spells and with her link ability, she can cast multiple spells at once. Xena basically fills the "Red Mage" role.
There are 4 types of mages:
Heather=black mage
Xena=red mage
Rham Jas= white mage
Who will be the blue mage? (who absorbs or eats the enemy to get the magic skills)
I'm guessing most likely vlad cause he's a vampire and he sucks a lot, no pun intended...
Dude I was really thrown off by the title...I looked at that and was like Really?that's retarded...but then i downloaded it out of curiosity and all i can say is this game was awesome. I enjoyed every minute of it and i owned Jason all three times. I love the satire and the level up dialog. I can't wait to see the finished product. By the way those monsters looked awesome and i love when you scan them and read about them. pretty demented i like it.

Edit:Ash should get a weapon called the boomstick or at least a skill just saying
Haha, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I don't know how/why I came up with this title. It just sort of...happened.

I'm going to work on this game bit by bit every day, so hopefully it'll come out sooner rather than later.
Waaaaaaait a minute... Sunnydale? By any chance, do you live in SUNNYVALE California?
Sunnydale is where Buffy Summers( the main protagonist of this game and the Buffy the vampire slayer franchise) lives
Buffy's my favorite show of all time (big NoES fan too), so I'll definitely be checking this out!
So ironic that I'd catch this. I've been working on this game so much over the last few days. I didn't think I'd get back into RPGMaker ever again. haha

But yeah, this is definitely getting finished now. Gone too far. I hope it have it done by the end of the year, there aren't many dungeons left.

ETA

The "how to recruit" page is... completely wrong. lol
Disclaimer: I don't usually like fanworks.

That said, here is some feedback.

-baseball glove seems like a weird weapon. Have you ever tried to hit someone with one of those things? You can, at best, slap people with it. Maybe MMA gloves, or something like that, would feel more credible.

-ghost sprites in the first encounter also seem strange. They're kinda cutesy looking ghosts on the map (once in battle, they're fine) and the player's already working pretty hard to suspend disbelief by that point (totally new setting, no details yet, main character has amnesia, and they're seeing characters from two different canons, it's a lot of work for the brain to decide "yeah, that's plausible,") so swapping the ghosts out for something more fearsome looking would help a lot.

-your ability to write Dean and Buffy is excellent. Their dialog feels plausible for the characters.

-"At first I thought it was some BS fantasy written by a coule of prevs" 'couple of pervs'?

-"*retains laughter*" feels like it breaks the fourth wall a little. I think it's a little too stiff, and if you'd used *holds back laughter* it would feel more natural. That said, I think you can get away with using neither, and just infer emotions through dialog instead of having to tell people how your characters feel. You dialog is plenty strong, and I think it could manage this.

-battle monster sprites are excellently weird.

-music is solid, and enhances the game's experience

-"keebles and bits" 'kibbles and bits'

I'll keep working my way through the game, but these are the things that have stood out to me so far.
Thanks for the comments! I appreciate you so much for playing. =) I will for sure change those spelling errors, if I haven't already.

Also, the baseball glove has been changed to a boxing glove.
More feedback:

-love the monster scan descriptions, but there's an issue with the Harpy. It preys on "prevented" men. I think you mean perverted?

-using buffy's self-heal in battle didn't use up her turn. Not sure if that's deliberate or not, since it's such a strong heal.

-No overworld battles? Thank god.

-The town of Moonshadow is introduced a little too abruptly for my taste. Even a couple of lines of "oh, there's a town here" would help to establish setting.

-"That only confirms my suspicions. Wes Craven must be behind this." That's a hell of a line, and it came just when I was starting to get bored with this random crossover stuff. I'm surprised by how much I'm liking that meta-plot.

-The item "mini muscle boast" should probably be boost

-Town layout is non-intuitive, bland, and a little confusing.

-After finishing combat against Crazies, ends results are written as "End Resultss"

-Level ups are fast and very productive, always nice.

-Mr Chief's description has some words mashed together. "cheifin" and "corpsesof"

-Edith's description has "likesto". Also, "victims" runs off the edge of the screen.

-Antenna's description has "itsvictim's"

-'tempt whisper' inflicts insanity instead of the weak it claims to inflict, and the battle text calls it 'quiet whisper'

-Lilith's dialog has "I am the shadow lurking underneathe your feet". Also, her changing portraits are a little off-putting.

-The psychic's dialog "Listen carefully. This woman's soul is bind by forces whose powers exceed my own." 'bound'

-I have no idea what the number costs next to abilities actually mean. Buffy has 55 MP and regularly casts triple punch, which claims to cost 111, all without her MP ever decreasing.

-battle backgrounds are great

-The first time you use the Satellite Tower elevator, it asks you which floor you'd like to go to, but then puts you into a "but thou must" loop forcing you to go to the top. This is a little annoying. Having that same loop happen again, forcing you to the ground floor, is a lot annoying.

-The switch room in the satellite tower has a passability issue with the papers on the desk. Also, the switch asks you if you want to 'active' the switch.

-resource management isn't a major challenge in this game, so I'm not sure why there's so many items to crowd the inventory with. It's kind of all just peripheral stuff; useful, but not so scarce that you couldn't handle with zero-cost abilities everything that items currently are doing. If you used abilites for the current item functions, you could even make use of wait timers to make healing in battle more challenging/complex.

-the frequent heals are nice, but managing health levels isn't really a challenge in this game. Why not just include free after-battle refreshes? On the rare occasions where you need the party to enter a fight 'tired', you can just hit them with a status or some damage at the start of the fight.

DEMO FINISHED
Thank you sooooooo much for playing! I appreciate you so much for pointing all of these things out to me! I did catch most of them, but some I didn't, so I'll be getting to those pronto.

About Buffy's MP. The special moves that you gain from your weapons consume HP/BP when used, not MP/EP. :) That's why 'Triple Punch' for an example didn't consume any of her EP.
I gotta play this (for obvious reasons).
Yes, you must! And tell your friends!!
