I know, usually I throw whatever news I have out there right away to be read. However, this announcement needs some time for me to work out the details. It'll happen soon though, and it has to do with Eden Legacy IV. With that said, I do have some other news reports pertaining to this game.
I've finally gone back and started implementing the story events, even though I'm not quite done with the dungeons and town designs.Getting there. The dungeons are much more interesting than in the past, in my opinion (although EL1 isn't hard to beat in that respect). I think I'm ending the NES/GB era with a bang! I'm in the middle of designing a pretty big prison level which has all kinds of interesting twists. I even plotted out the ending, which is going to be a giant-scale war battle where you'll be working your way across a battlefield to reach the boss (I've always wanted to do this in one of my games). It'll look pretty simplistic, keeping with the spirit of the other games, but it should be a fun final romp.
I also wanted to mention that I brought back Atlantis as an optional location. EL2 lacked sidequests and optional dungeons like the first game had, and I wanted to go back to this.
So, here we are at the end of October. It doesn't look like I'm gonna meet my deadline of having the designs all done this week, but you never know. I figured EL2 was gonna be a few weeks behind my scheduled release date, and it ended up being a week and a half early! I'm having fun with this prison dungeon so I should have it finished by tomorrow night.
I think that's all I needed to say... oh yes! I forgot another announcement that I can make. I'm going to take a small break after finishing this game before going ahead with the next trilogy. In that time, I will be updating all three Eden Legacy games with new versions and making them available in a special Collector's Edition package. Changes will address any other bugs that have been found, some graphical changes (EL1 will include monster sprites, dungeons will be a little prettier with extra goodies and paths), and I will be adding a shit ton of new areas to all of the world maps, fill them up some and give players a bit more choice in how they play it. The biggest complaint of these games was that the worlds are so huge and there should be more content added with some more interesting gameplay, so I hope to address that with these updates. The games in their current and original form will still be available though, as they are still the games that I intended them to be.
Who knows, I may just do another facelift every time I finish a trilogy. They could be WIPs for the rest of eternity for all I know lol. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
