Update time?

To be perfectly honest, all I did for this update was include the scene that introduced the antagonists. I doubt it's worthy of a download if you've played the game before, but who knows?
Other than this, I've been vaguely considering requesting a Pass/Fail video. I always hesitate because, frankly, I really don't need to hear how "noobish" my mapping is for the nth time. I dunno. On one hand, I might be able to glean some pointers, supposing I can get over the emotional whacking. On the other, I might very well get so downhearted as to cancel the project because I was given such an emotional whacking. Either way, it's not going to be pretty.
On the bright side, I think I might have come up with the basic problem to solve in the Damned Trial. My current theory is that both the Divine Trial and Damned Trial would essentially ask the question of "how much will you sacrifice to obtain power?" I'm thinking the best answer for the Divine Trial would be something along the lines of "I want power so that others need not be sacrificed", whereas the Damned Trial would want to hear "I would do anything for power." How either of these concepts translates into a dungeon is still a work-in-progress.

There's no reason to get downhearted and cancel your project based on the opinion of others man!
Be cool! Good luck

Besides, you would be doing yourself a grave disservice by distancing yourself from criticism. This could very well lead to the "everyone else is wrong" novice artist mentality, where one gets a pat on the back by those who would accept absolutely anything and decides to move into a more professional setting, but is then later met by a less-than-welcoming reception, ultimately leading to an outburst of "you don't know what you're talking about" or "you all are just jealous".
Even if the above never occurs, ignoring the outside opinion will more than likely lead to years upon years of work with little to no progress to show for it. I know that before I showed my projects to anyone outside of my real life friends, I spent years working with the system to create nothing better than empty squarish towns and "snake" dungeons, incredibly mediocre world maps and canyons made with nothing more than the mountain auto-tile and a dirt trail. And even though I've been parading my work around the web since 2006 (IIRC), it wasn't until 2007-08, or around the time of the original Redeeming Legacy, that I started making any sort of significant progress beyond that point, which is a tad bit embarrassing after working with RM in some way, shape or form since early 2002.

There might be a reason to be downhearted from being fairly constantly told that one's mapping is "noobish", but I grant that being downhearted is not a reason to cancel a game. Which means the decision to cancel Legacy Reborn was based solely on the emotional state I was in at the time. I'll bring it back eventually, but I do want to work on it some before I revive it on an official basis.
I want to focus on the creation of this game, though. As soon as these ideas I have flesh out more, I should be chugging along at a decent clip. At least, as far as Chapter 2 is concerned. Chapter 3 could probably use some re-examination. I'll be sure to blog about it when I get that far.
