Mythica Stories employs its own unique system of advancing the playable characters. The usual RPG Maker leveling style is left intact, though the characters advancement is virtually symbolic this way. The real advancement happens in the Library, a location unique for each character, which can be accessed on the story map (so you can't advance your characters during a given story- tonly the usual leveling up happens during stories). Apart from normal experience points, the party gains PAP (Party Ability Points), which later can be exchanged for abilities or augments in the Library.
As opposed to normal experience points, which the characters earn individually, there is only one pool of PAP, which means that the player can choose which characters to advance, and which to leave behind. Also, leveling up weaker characters is easier that way since the stronger ones might earn PAP which can later be used for other members of the party.
