Updated Demo (regretting uploading the first one)

Well, the first demo was awful. Simply put, it was buggy, and some of the bugs were pretty game-breaking. So I went through it, fixed any bugs I read and could find, and uploaded an updated one. A lot of the bugs, however, were due to my carelessness as the developer. I shouldn't have posted that first demo without fully testing it, first. For that, I am truly sorry.
However, this is also a good thing. It helps me learn what it takes to be a developer. It's a lot of hard work, but in the end, it could be very rewarding (which is funny, given that the full game will be free.) I just hope I don't make anymore errors like this.

You may want to get wome people to test the new demo for you, to make sure you didn't miss anything. I know I'd be willing to test if you want :)
I put it public access for a reason, so that everyone can test as well. So you are perfectly welcome to.
All right then, I shall :)
Game, prepare to be tested!
Also, if you need any tips, feel free to ask when the updated demo is up.
Oh yeah, here's a heavy warning: At the end of the demo, when you get the choice to play around the future release cave, bear in mind that there is NO way to revive a dead player.

ok! i just played the demo... here's my impressions:

1. I believe there's a bug in which if you change Diana's name at the beginning, afterwards it just reverts back to Diana. This happened to me in my game also... I believe the solution is to change the name AFTER you added the character to your party in the event.

2. I also found a bug in the city after you are in Deralia. When you press enter in the city gates, it says that you don't have permission to leave the city without your parents, and then my character freezes in place. But I can still access the menu and quit, etc. And the rest of events still keep moving... It's just me that freezes.

3. Ok, about the game now... I like the idea, and I like the character of kitty!!!... Everything flowed well with the story, in my opinion.

4. The maps are lacking some life and polish, but I believe you'll improve constantly with time...

5. All the enemies were ridiculously weak in comparison to your character, I don't know if that's intentional or just my impression...

So! keep it up... was nice playing the demo, albeit it was a bit short.
1. I think I can do that without having to change any of the writing. Just add Diana into the party when he asks you to name the heroine.

2. That was the result of accidentally making the character going right instead of left. Will be fixed in the main game.

3. Yes. My writing prowess is good!

4. Any particular maps, or just the whole thing in general?

5. The Daggers are intentionally weak, the enemies will (hopefully) get stronger with time, and development.

Did you continue to play after the story fact? I would like to know how the snake-like creatures of the cave turned out.

EDIT: Does that first glitch mess with Alex and Brian in anyway? Wait, yes it does. I figured out the problem. I had all the characters set to initialize, which unintentionally made the characters revert to their default names.

4. I believe the whole thing in general... It is especially noteworthy in the caves.
You should look at some screenshots of RMXP games and look for inspiration.
But the mapping is certainly improving from the initial screenshots...

The snake like enemies are ok, I guess... But without enough healing items I think they would eventually overpower the party... I was level 3 when I entered the cave. I don't particularly like random encounters but it's ok I guess!
Here's a great thing of tips, but I warn you, it'll make the fights TOO easy:

Arsue (The snake lady) is weak against fire magic, and magic in general. Ice magic (Not featured in the demo) would be useless, however.
Use Slicing Tornado on the Solius (Scorpion enemies) to kill them really quick.
The Grentral (Lizard) are immune to magic, but Claw Strike will kill them easily. In fact, Kitty in general can kill them very easily, because he is great vs. snakes.

Hope this helps.

Cool! I beat them allright... But I had bought like 18 healing potions! They saved my butt :)
my notices are going haywire all over your blog, Back on topic what's your next step? are you going to release another demo or wait until your finished and let the beta testers have a shot at it?
Just curious
I...don't know. We'll just wait and see, won't we?

EDIT: My notices are going haywire, too.
See how it goes i suppose.

Edit: I'm waiting for my game to be approved.. I get a sudden rush of excitement and then.. oh it's bronze age let's have a read of this :P

Edit Edit: not that it's a bad thing

Edit Edit Edit: Bronze soul
Oh, here's something I should've mentioned. If you get Diana to level 20, you get to preview some animations I made for her. My first two, actually. They are in the form of incredibly powerful multi-hit spells that come in two elements: Fire and Lightning. Just throwing that out there. Total XP required: 4795 or 5552 (I can't tell which.) That isn't too bad, considering the exp values of the enemies in the cave.

Grental = 15
Arsue = 30
Solius = 20

One of the random encounters involves you fighting one of each. That amounts to...65 exp a battle. The only other battle in there is versing two grentals, which means 30 exp a battle. Fight both in a row, and that means a total of 95 exp. That's an average of 100 battles. 73 battles if you fight the one of each unit battles only, and as high as 160 battles with just the two grentals battles.

In the full game, there will be more random encounter types in the area.

It's Bronze Soul.

You know, you didn't encrypt the game... so we can go in and look at the animations OR go in and add an event to make ourselves level 20 (Not that any one would do such a thing)
Honestly, it's just the demo, so go ahead if you want to. Just don't post any illegal copies on different sites.
lol, I wouldn't do something evil like that (although, with your permission I might have to turn into a level 20 powerhouse)
Whats wrong with your current level?

I missed out on the first demo, which seems like a good thing, but I'll be checking out the updated demo.
