Version 1.0 is finally finished, Yay! Craving comments and ideas...

I just feel so happy now I've finished my first game ever!!!
Thanks to everyone that supported this game. I've really appreciated it!

Lucid Dream - Night One:Amnesia Version 1.0 is now uploaded:
http://rpgmaker.net/manage_games/3026/downloads/

I've made two editions:

1) Wholescreen Edition
Recommended screen resolution: 1280 x 960 pixels
(I tested it on my laptop which has the resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels - the screen appears slightly distorted but it's not a major problem)

I recommend this edition because games are much more atmospheric when played in whole screen! However, the name event at the begining of the game(640 x 480 Window Edition) has been removed in this edition, because the programming scripts are not compatible...I will try to fix it in the Standard Version in the future.

2) 640 x 480 Window Edition
This game runs in a command window sized 640 x 480 pixels.
In this edition the player can name the character "067" at the beginning of the game, something which you can't do in the Wholescreen edition.

I would really love to hear your comments and ideas - I want to improve this game in the future. Please tell me any problems and bugs that you find in the game and I'll try my best to fix them. I have already fixed a lot of bugs such as dialogue speed, events switches and battle system etc, but I know it's not perfect.

I'll be working on new content in the summer holidays, after I've finished my A-Level exams. By that time I would have more time and energy to make games...I've already got a cool idea in mind for my next game and I can't wait to realise this idea!

So thanks and I hope you'll enjoy this game!

Um...slightly less feminine (?) version of Dr Brown + portrait of Anya(the nurse)

Personally I prefer his face when it's more feminine and without the glasses, but it wouldn't suit his character in the game though.
I'm really fussy with names, boy's name is especially difficult...I need to think of a geeky name for him but I just can't find a suitable name!
He's called"Dr Brown" for now(named after his hair colour= =)but I'll probably change his name in the future, when I've got inspiration for cool names.

Anya

After researching sites of baby's names, I discovered that a lot of Russian names sounds really pretty!
She looks so innocent and sweet. But when I look at her I kept thinking of Silent Hill...

Character design: Mysterious Woman - with scary eyes...

Here's the coloured line drawing:

The sexy red evening dress was inspired by Ada Wong in Resident Evil(She' so cool!).
Haven't finished her lower body yet, I might also add some pattern over the dress or something later.
I love her cat-like eyes!!! They look so dangerous.
Making a floating animation for her sprite now...
I hope it'll work.

New skills system and skill icons

Different skills can be acquired in the game, usually through levelling up.
There are two main categories of skills - Active Skills and Passive Skills.
Active skills are offensive while Passive Skills are defensive.

These two main categories are divided into four subcategories:

1) Melee(Active)
e.g. Multi Hits - inflicts multiple melee attacks on one or more enemies.

2) Heal(Passive)
e.g. Cure - restores some HP.

3) Shield(Passive)
e.g. Shell - reduces the enemies' damage for a number of rounds.

4) Effect(Active)
e.g. Stun - stuns the enemies so they cannot move for a number of rounds.

Some skill would also have different Levels(usually three Levels in total) which can be improved upon.

All the skills in Melee, and Heal category are done, but I'm still working on Sheild and Effect skills which are more difficult.

I also need to think of some cooler names...

Writing basic game instructions...(with more screenshots)

Control Guide:
Enter:Confirm / Interact / Talk
Arrows Keys: Move / Select
Esc:Call the Menu / Cancel

Instructions:

Health Points(HP)
This is used to determine how much damage you can withstand. When you've been attacked, the total damage points are subtracted from yourcurrent HP. You will be killed once your HP reaches 0.
the objective is todeplete the HP of enemies while maintaining your HP. HP can berefilled by using a restorative item or using “Heal” skills.

Skill Points (SP)
When you use a skill,a number of SP will be reduced from your available SP to pay for the skill(more powerful skillsgenerally cost more SP).you cannot use skills if your SP is not enough.
a character must consume certain items to recover SP.

EXP(ExperiencePoints)
you start as fairly weak and untrained. When a sufficient amount of experienceis obtained, your ability stats such as HP and SP would be increased by levelling up. You may also acquire new abilities or improve existing ones.
EXP is usually gained through defeating evil creatures in the Dream Wolrd.

Levels
an accumulation of a sufficient number of EXP increases your level which represents your experience. You need to gain enough EXP to reach the next level.
By gaining a level, your ability stats will increase, making you stronger and able to accomplish more difficult tasks, such as safely battling stronger enemies and gaining access to more powerful abilities.
Healing and support items canbe obtained from defeated monsters and various locations.

Strength: determines the damage points inflicted onto one enemy when you delivers a normal attack.

Power: determines the damage points inflicted onto your enemies when you use Melee skill to attack.

Defence: determines the damage points inflicted onto you when you are attacked by enemies.

Agility: determines your chances of missing your enemies' attack. In the battles the turns are based upon your agility, the one with the highest speed goes first.

Luck: determines your chances of Critical Attack to your enemy, which inflicts much heavier damage to your enemy than a normal attack. It also determines your chances of escaping successfully from battles.

Game Saving
Game saving is done usually in the menu, but the save option may be disabled under certain circumstances, in this case the player would have to reach a save point - an object that can be found in different parts of the Dream World - in order to save. The game can also be saved at the end of each Night.

Character design - 067(in two default costumes)

This is the black evening dress, 067's default costume in the Dream World. I personally love the spider brooch! I love spiders...fake ones only.

This is the hospital costume which 067 wears in the Normal World.
It looks a bit like prison uniform with the name tag, but it's not meant to be pretty.
